"Dune" -- piece of merde!  Ptooi!

There was a TV mini-series that did the story justice...but relied heavily on CGI.  Looked good on a small screen.  Haven't gotten it out to watch it on DVD on my HDTV yet.

How are these page changes happening so fast?

Patrick Dempsey, a star on ABC's popular "Grey's Anatomy" television show, is officially entered in Saturday's 3:30 p.m. Koni Challenge GS race at Iowa Speedway, track director of media relations Mike Beecher said this morning.

Officials first confirmed to the Des Moines Register on Wednesday that Dempsey planned to race in Newton.

At that point, however, the actor and racer had not yet entered for the race in Newton.

Dempsey is slated to be one of two drivers in the No. 54 Mustang GT car. He helped his team to a sixth-place finish last weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway.

The GS race in which Dempsey is entered follows the Koni Challenge ST race scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

I'm all caught up.  Finally!!  Although, I have nothing to say.  Jekyll and Hyde is coming along really well. Tomorrow morning is the one and ONLY orchestra rehearsal.  Sunday is tech and Monday we put everything together and we open next Saturday (previewing on Friday).   Here is the URL as to what it is that's going on.

http://paplayers.org/onstagenow.htm

I must say that the process of getting this show up has been one of the best experiences ever.  The director has taken this poor excuse for a show and created a fabulous piece of theatre.  I was quite aprehensive of taking this show on, but we have been blessed by a fabulous cast.  Very hard working and not a diva among them.  THANK GOODNESS.  This is what theatre is suppose to be like.

Spoo...I didn't mean to include a subliminal plug for THE CLOSER (DR Bretty's soon-to-be new favorite TV show) in that last post.

And, yes, a CD would be a delight (I still haven't the wherewithal to move my LPs to CDs - shame 'cause I have a lot of arcane musicals that never made it to CD.

The "day of gifting" didn't stop at work...when I got home, not only did I have a $20 gift card from Starbucks, and an apology about the misfortune of the stolen wallet in NY, but a wonderful package of audio treasures from DR Elmore 3003. Thank you, thank you!

As coincidence would have it, we watched the delightful and charming Jean-Pierre Cassel in "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" only last weekend.  74 is YOUNG. Very sad news.
