Reading over some of the blogs that DR Jennifer linked to, it occurred to me that Jack's flashforward mainly indicates that he isn't coping with escaping from the island, not that he is necessarily feeling guilty of being of three to four who managed to escape.  It could well be that everyone made it safely off.  If I'm recalling Kate's reactions clearly, it could be construed that she has just grown weary of Jack's downward spiral.  As Ben had said, "What do you have to go home to, Jack?"  It looks like he spoke the truth.  Jack could be doomed to suffer the same sort of post-war trauma that so many veterans experience and he's medicating his pain with drink and drugs.  And in his suffereing, he believes that the one true way to relieve his pain would be to return to the island.

I hope I don't stay obsessed like this for the next nine months!

Next time you see Joanne, ask her why she hogged all the scenes from Allison in COUNT THREE AND PRAY.

Joanne played a hillbilly with a definite Method bent....she wouldn't start sneering for a couple years until FROM THE TERRACE.  

Add me to that list of unconcerned nonviewers.  From all I gather it sounds like much ado about nothing and disconnected attempts to  pretentious symbolism, rather like TWIN PEAKS.

As someone who personally knows both the Log Lady and the one-armed man, believe me, Lost is head and shoulders (and possibly one arm) above Twin Peaks.  No comparison whatsoever.

So...are you saying that those of "us" who are talking about it so avidly and with great admiration of it cannot possibly have any taste when it comes to such things.

I sort of switched from LOST to HEROES this year....

GRRRRRRRRR  I forgot to watch SHEAR DESIGN last night.  

George, I think TLT's WHOREHOUSE (which opens in two weeks) has only four Aggies, too.  Amazing that any college can win the "Big Game" with a football team of four players.

And why are two local theaters (within 30 miles of each other) both suddenly dragging out WHOREHOUSE when there so many other musicals that never get done locally?

That's one of life's imponderables.

However if the producers of LOST were suddenly to cast Miss Carroll Baker in a role, I would start watching again....in February.

This FIREBRAND OF FLORENCE dilemma continues.  After I got screwed over by the used seller on Tuesday, I sent the President of the Kurt Weill Foundation an email asking if he could help me out with a discount on the edition ($425 for subscribers and $600 to nonsubscribers).  While I would love to have the entire Weill Edition, I would rather purchase only the ones I really really want.  He told me he would get back to me.  No word yet.

So, I found a copy on AbeBooks, and I've sent trhe vendor two emails now asking if it's the single orchestra score or the complete 2-volume edition I want.  That was two days ago and still no response.  Is the universe telling me to forget about this?
