So, no one (except one brave soul) had any birthday cake?

What did Magic Mommy think about it?

What did Magic Mommy think about it?

Actually, she thought it was neat and kept the left-overs!

der Brucer

William's "real" bithday cake was baked by his aunt - a black Spiderman III (and William was upset because he only got to eat one of Spidey's eyes!)

It also seems that the Hero of the Day is one:

Alex was distraught the William got a Ben-10 watch; fortunately Alex's bitrthday pile is a tad short - so that will fill it out. (Alex's birthday is in four weeks.)

Jose, I have so much stuff I decided to buy a bigger house....which resulted in my parents giving me more stuff....AHHHH.   I need to start selling things on eBay...

When I sold my house at the lake I had boxes and boxes of stuff my mother had saved for me over the years and things I had saved.  It was very emotional for me to go through all the boxes, sort of a this is your life, but I'm glad I didn't just haul them all to Sioux City.  You'll feel much better once you just go for it and make the move.

Fortunately, Grandpa also brought fresh watermelon, cantelope, pineapple and green grapes.

I am sleepy. I had a busy day of cleaning. I got out the Murphy's Oil Soap and cleaned the kitchen cupboards. They look very nice now.  I'm going to clean all day tomorrow.  When the mood strikes, I need to go for it.  Besides, it's supposed to rain again. It's been raining for several days off and on (except the day they cut the big trees down) and is supposed to rain every day during the next week except for Tuesday.

Now I'm going to get some rest.  I finished Water for Elephants so I'm going to look through my pile of books I haven't read yet and see if I can find another gem

And think of all the neat stuff you'll be able to buy at yard sales with your eBay proceeds :)

ASSOCIATED PRESS

Quote
About 35 Injured When Car Plows Into Street Festival in Washington, D.C.

Sunday , June 03, 2007
WASHINGTON —

A woman sped through a crowded street festival Saturday night, injuring about 35 people including two police officers who drove their motor scooters into the path attempting to stop the driver, authorities said.

The injured, including at least seven critically, were taken to area hospitals, said Alan Etter, a spokesman for the District of Columbia fire department.

Etter said authorities believe the driver was going about 70 mph when she came through the Unifest African-Maeican cultural festival and parade at about 8 p.m. The woman fled the scene and was caught about a block away, he said.

Police identified the driver as Tanya Bell, 35, of Oxon Hill, Md. They said there was a 7- or 8-year-old child in the car with her.

And BK thought LA had a monopoly on careless drivers!

At least she was a good Mom and didn't leave the kid at home unattended!

A paddler maneuvers his outrigger canoe into the water near the InterContinental as the sun sets behind Mt. Otemanu. Author James Michener dubbed Bora-Bora's lagoon "the most beautiful in the world." Michener, stationed here during World War II, is said to have used the island as one of the models for the mythical Bali Hai in his book "Tales of the South Pacific."

John Fogerty sang "Hearts of Stone" on his wonderful "Blue Ridge Rangers" album.

Our architect gave me a copy of that. Great album...I should dig it out now that I know that this song has "special" signifigance!

Are the Dunaway Gardens also knoiwn as the Faye Gardens in some circles?

Ha! Well, I have a hard time calling it Dunaway because I love it so much, and our mayor also has the same name. (Dunaway, not Faye.) I don't love him so much, especially since he's best buddies with our evil developer nemesis and saw to it that his buddy got a half a million dollars of our tax money to squander on polo club memberships and expensive motorcycles.

But I'm not bitter!
