DR MattH, did you watch last night's THE TUDORS?  Boy, they are really screwing about with the facts concerning Mr & Mrs Charles Brandon! Not even a mention of the three children they had before she died.

Well, you can't argue against Stephen Fallow 'cause he's got him a doctorate in thea-tah!

Johnny Weissmuller was the inspiration for Charles Rauschmiller (AKA Mowgli) in the Cole Porter misical JUBILEE!

I am certain that Mr. Weissmuller inspired Mr. Porter in many, many ways!

The last time I saw her was as Nanny Hawkins in "Brideshead Revisited", but she's much more memorable from "My Fair Lady."

She has a nice part in IF.... which I watched this weekend, and she's superb in STEVIE with Glenda Jackson.

BK, I just read a bio of Darryl F. Zanuck and the basic thing about Henry King is that he was a guy Zanuck used when he wanted a yes-man, kind of a style-less workman.

I watched another CLOSER episode this afternoon after I got in from lunch. This was the one where a wife and daughter were found in the harbor tied together, and the spotlight of guilt naturally fell on her British husband. Excellent episode, especially fine acting from the fellow who plays Cromwell on THE TUDORS.

Fielding several phone calls this afternoon, I did manage to watch STUDIO 60, and I thought it was the best episode it has had in months. What made it good was that it was DRAMATIC, and all of it was believable and interesting. The dialog was less flippant and wise-ass, and I got far more invested in the characters than most episodes allow me to be.

Rob Lowe is from Charlottesville (my former home town), so I'll give him a second chance and try to find a copy of THE STAND. (Was that a TV movie or theatrical?)

Made-for-TV movie.  Aired yesterday in its entirety on Sci-Fi channel.

I pay a decent amount for my new cable package, I don't want to pay any more, that's for sure, and yet I  had come to enjoy Fox Movie Channel as an alternative or complement to TCM. Now I am reliant on TCM for my older movie fix because Fox isn't offered with this package I have.

When will the day come where you can pick exactly the stations you want and don't want? I am sure it will never happen.

I don't know what's going around, but my dear friends in Brighton also lost their 18 year old kitty on Saturday. We had been sending presents back and forth from our cats for many years, and he was a good bed buddy when we would visit them.

This morning I found out that my brother's best friend in high school died on Saturday. He was almost a member of the family until my brother moved to NC and his friend got married. (He had 7 siblings and I think he appreciated our calmer household.) I hadn't seen him in years but my brother would always attend class reunions with him.

I had to tell my brother today. He is devestated and I have been weepy all day during my session. His friend was my age, too.
