I had the great pleasure of seeing Bridget Hanley in the Theater West production of SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY in L.A. a few years back.  I had been disappointed before going in that Lee Meriwether wasn't going to be performing (there were alternating casts), but Hanley was simply wonderful and memorable.  One of my first tastes of L.A. theater, and it was a simple but top-notch production.

I just spoke to DR vixmom, who sends you all her love and regards.  She wants to come in the weekend of June 30 to see all of us.

Oooo, goodie!  It will be great to see her!

DH Richard and I are having "red (well, pink) juice" while we wait for the stuffed pork chops to finish baking - white zinfandel.

bk - Stay hydrated and eat some potato chips: the salt helps to keep your salivary glands going, and the oil helps to keep things lubricated.

Really?  I would never have thought to use potato chips!

Today my DS and I went shopping for wedding gifts. Two of his friends are getting married soon. Not to each other, though.

DR Drawstring, I am very familiar with Shaw and sang under him, so to speak....

At least, you didn't say performed under him!

Tonight on TCM begins a month-long series on the portrayals of gays throughout the history of cinema. Beginning with the short ALGIE THE MINER and continuing up to the present day, films will be shown on Monday and Wednesday evenings for the entire month of June. My DVR will be going into overdrive to catch movies I've heard about but never had a chance to see.

Today during lunch, I was able to exchange my defective DVR for another (hopefully NOT defective) DVR.  I hadn't heard about this series.  I'll definitely be recording these.  Thanks for posting this!

Hmm.. I guess it's time to start coordinating schedules, and see just how many HHW gatherings will be taking place that week.

DH Richard, DR Elmore, and I will be going to see Curtains on Saturday evening, June 30.  Anyone else?

Evening everyone!

I know some ears were burning today because I took the lovely card into work and told everyone about Mom’s star.  Everyone told me what wonderful friends I have and I am proud to agree with them!

Again, I can not thank you enough for your kind, sweet gesture.  I’m just looking for someplace to go so I can see Mom’s star for myself!

I am so very sorry to hear about Dear Dog Marty and Dear Kitty Walty.  My most deepest condolences.  I know they both had a better life for being in the care of someone from HHW.   :'(

Ho's have a right to their space, just like anyone else!

We were just sitting here in the editing room talking about how we feel like whores---or maybe we're more like pimps...pimpin' THE CLOSER.

MR BK - are you being costumed for this reading or are you providing your own clothes?

In either case, what stylish creation are you wearing to be seen in by the masses?

I have never thought of Rob Morrow as a brat pack actor, mainly because I have'nt seen him in any brat pack ensemble-type films.

But I alway enjoy him in Northern Exposure, and QUIZ SHOW is one of my favorite movies.

Rob Lowe, on the other hand---definitely a brat pack guy, yes, but I can't tolerate his "acting". He's done 3 original movie for TNT, including Salem's Lot. I worked on these and never could understand why this guy continues to get work, apart from his looks. (I find Rob Morrow way more attractive, BTW.)

All six seasons of NORTHERN EXPOSURE were filmed here in Washington State.  During that time, they employed a great many local actors, both professional and non-professional.  I know a large number of actors who worked at various times on the series, and I can tell that the one constant among every single individual, was their intense dislike of Mr. Morrow.  At various times I heard him described as vain, self-centered, obnoxious, insensitive, foul-tempered, beliggerant, and a little Hitler.  And those are just the terms that I remember.

Personally, I consider  Rob Lowe a good actor and Mr Morrow, merely a famous name.
