DR Jane...I keep forgetting to post:  Thanks so much for sharing your anniversary with us last night.  So wonderful!  And how good it must have felt to let Sherlock really ROMP!!!!   :)

So are so sweet, thank you.  Words can't express how happy we were.  If only we could live there & take him to the beach every day.

speaking of recordings has there been any news of  a certain OCR ever seeing the light of day?

I was just about to mention...

Of course, there are shows that do get recorded, but never have their OCR released.

Mercury?  Are you listening?  ;)

It is Dear Reader Laura who claims to have been born in 1900! (and thus does not have a birth date song  "Ma Tiger Lily" CD)

But think how valuable existing recordings are.

-I'm not disparaging "A Man of No Importance", just saying that if a show that had a limited run can get recorded, well, then...  And if not RCA, then most likely PS Classics.  I hope.

I think it was JAY that recorded both "A Man of No Importance" and "Dessa Rose."  I would assume that JAY might be Ahrens & Flaherty's recording label of choice.

Late 70's, early 80's, I believe.  Then came "Solid Gold".  I still have nightmares of him singing "Eye of the Tiger" in leopard skin spandex.  With a gold lamé headband, of course.  :-\

Before 1980, which was the summer in Central Park of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. Rex Smith was already a pop star.

OK, I know I'm going to stick my foot in this but I have to ask,
How do you know they're hookers?

LOL-I was wondering the same thing.  I just figured someone more worldly than I would know the difference. :)

With her fingers!!!!

*rimshot*

Which reminds me of one of the many jokes I remember from "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson"...

-What the difference between a vitamin and a hormone.
I don't know, what's the difference between a vitamin and a hormone?
-You can't make a "vita" "min".

Brief puzzled pause... Followed by some "oh, that was naughty" laughter.

Rex Smith shot to fame with a TV movie called "Sooner or Later."  it was aimed at teen girls, but I somehow noticed the barrage of advertising.

Man Makes Woman Fill His SUV With Gas
By Associated Press

SALT LAKE CITY - A woman was held up during a fill-up. The woman was pumping gasoline Sunday morning when a man stuck something in her back, told her it was a gun and ordered her to start filling up his sport utility vehicle instead of her own car, said Salt Lake City police Detective Jared Wihongi.

"This is definitely not common," Wihongi said Monday.

The woman put $15 worth in the other vehicle's tank before her debit card reached its limit.

Wihongi said surveillance video at the station showed two men in a large, white sport utility vehicle with Wyoming license plates. They could face aggravated robbery charges.

The woman was so shaken up by the incident she didn't call police until about three hours later.

Rex Smith was also quite wonderful in one of the interim Broadway versions of Wildhorn's THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL.

Yeah, the year I graduated. I remember the song just not him.
It had very creative lyrics...

You. You take my breath away. I don't know what to say. You take my breath away.
