Wow! Have you ever noticed how the girls showed lots of skin, in a very decent way, while the boys were wearing full jamies?

Being French, I never understood that "pajama party" thing! :-\
That would have been to "offensive" here at the time! I guess...

The clothing credit for the boys' pajamas in that movie was Ah-Men, which specialized in revealing swim trunks and posing straps....the pajamas must have been the most conservative thing in the catalog.  :o

Tomorrow when I wake up I shall say " I can't see!"   I can't see going to work, that is.   I'm supposed to go to a free seminar in Des Moines, but the main speaker is a lawyer who argued a fairly important case at the US Supreme Court. Unfortunately his client was killed during a robbery while the case was pending, so it was dismissed and there will be no decision.  So, I'm really not sure what the guy is going to talk about. Anyway, I'm going to use some sick leave to keep typing in addresses to send my announcements to. I've already typed in 279 and have lots to go. Whew!

I began my evening watching THE LOVED ONE on DVD. Parts of it are screamingly funny and parts are bitterly satirical, and, of course with any comedy that goes so far out on a limb, there are a few things that miss their mark. But how nice to see it looking so good.

The transfer is wonderfully sharp for 95% of the time. The soft sections are just maddening because the rest of it looks so good. Morse's dialog is all looped, and so is Barbara Nichols' (by someone who is so NOT Barbara Nichols.)

Then I watched the featurette on the making of the film. I had no idea Paul Williams was 23 years old playing that pre-teen kid. That was a BIG surprise.

In honor of DRJOSE's working relationship with Mr Marvin Hamlisch - here is Miss Donna Loren on Shindig, singing one of his FIRST recorded hits....(Lesley Gore had the chart single).

I think the set designer and choreographer had a bit too much of the literal pill that day.  8)

Donna Loren?!

I remember her mother, Sophia! ;)

I finished my evening by rewatching THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE. This is a DVD-R I recorded off TCM some months ago. I never tire of this film, and enjoyed it just as much as ever on this return visit. Didn't get quite through the last section (with Ingrid Bergman and Omar Shariff). Still have about 20 minutes to go.

Not sure. It's the Claiborne case that was pending before the US Supreme Court. I just know there was a robbery and he was killed.
