I forgot to mention a happy thing last night - they actually played the opening of I Hope I Get It at the correct tempo - it was about half that tempo when I saw the show - Jose, have they fixed this?  Is it correct now or was the faster tempo just for the Tonys?

The tempo of the Opening is what it should be now.  :)

*Having done the show a couple of times - and having seen it here in NYC a couple of time, I do have to say, that even if that opening tempo is just one or two clicks slower than "normal", it can really seem sloooooooow.  -And I'm always amazed at just how ingrained that OCR is in my brain.

**Although, I'm betting that since Mr. Hamlisch was leading them off, he might have had some influence over the tempos.  -His concert suite of A Chorus Line always seems a bit on the fast side to me, but, then again, since no one is dancing, it's more a chance for him to show off his Juilliard-trained chops.

***And I remember seeing the original production of A Chorus Line a few weeks before it closed.  Now those were some fast(!) tempos!

Tell that to the LA TIMES/APOh well, what do those West Coast folk know of Broadway!

Didn't you see Rebecca with her husband Danny when they announced her nomination?  She was seen in the MP segment but certainly lost in the shuffle with all the other company members.

Ohh... If I may talk about me for a second.... ;)

When I went to The Metropolitan Room Friday night with my friend, Chris, we were seated right next to a young woman and her parents.  -Well, since they seating at The Metropolitan Room is relatively tight, you're bound to sit next to someone's brother, sister, mother, father, etc.  In any case...

Chris introduced himself to our new "neighbors", and when it came time for me to introduce myself, the young woman said, "Oh, I know you, Jose.  You're wonderful."

She then went on telling her parents that I had played many an audition for her over the years, and that it was always a great comfort to her - and to others - knowing that I was at the piano.

That felt good.  :)

bk, everything you said about the Return to Oz soundtrack was true!

Yes, I must agree. I ordered it based of the HighHolinessWizard's(HHW) recommendation; Woody snagged it and went to listen in his BR (real estate lingo) - soon he back plunking it into the LR player (interrupting Fox News, how rude). Next I ordered the film (another expense to blame on HHW).

der Brucer

PS I don't want the DVD's of the ODD COUPLE, so I guess I'll have to delay that other Amazon paired purchase 8) - besides, the companion offering wouldn't play well on a TV used to Fox News.

What a nice story, Jose! Your reputation precedes you.

(My reputation preceded me once, but THAT, my dears, is another story for another time.)  ;)

Celeb love stories - I believe Rebecca first met Danny while they were working on Skip's show TIME AND AGAIN in San Diego

Howard McGillin met his significant other during a presentation of TIME AND AGAIN as well, i believe during intermission of a pre-San Diego reading.

Got everything packaged up - more than I thought there were, including two big orders - one for amazon, one for Dress Circle.   The amazon was all Brain From Planet X - the Dress Circle was a potpourri - of course, I know it will be an ordeal getting paid, but I've agreed to give them fourteen days from the receipt of the package on the proviso that I don't have to chase the dough down.

I understand Galt McDermott played occasionally in TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA and HAIR.

Allen Toussaint played in STAGGERLEE, but that was Off-Broadway...

That was a bonus for me to get to hear him play!

I was going to comment about that "beard" comment connected with Neil Patrick Harris. He has no need for them and am not sure he ever used them earlier in his career.

Why is she a "beard"? He just got paired up with her to present an award...it's not like we thought they were dating or anything!
