The one you would curse every morning as you waded through post after post of fluff and drivel...See, you tried to block me out of your mind, but now I'm back to make your life a living.... ;D

Sorry. Doesn't ring a bell.

I've said on many occasions here and elsewhere that Burton's performance in WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF is for me the greatest performance ever not to have won an Oscar.

Least favorite Burton performances are EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC and THE MEDUSA TOUCH.

I love Taylor in A PLACE IN THE SUN, GIANT, VIRGINIA WOOLF, and CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.

I recently rewatched the second half of CLEOPATRA, the part I had always disdained, and I found it much more involving and Burton's performance much better than I remembered it being. I think Taylor's work is brittle and not very good throughout the film.

Reminder:  Armistead Maupin's new novel Michael Tolliver Lives! is supposed to be available starting today.
I have already received my shipping notice from Amazon (and to get the Free shipping I added DVDs of Godsprell and JC Superstar (Special Edition)

My current dilemma is if/how to order S&V - maybe if I pakaged it with an Ann Coulter book it would be a "viewpoint" neutral package.

Oh maybe that's a bit harsh :) I could add a DVD of The Fountinhead, that might be more fair and balenced.

Wait - S&V is so over-priced it qualifies for free shipping all by its lonesome :(

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... Although, it took me a while to actually get out of bed.  I just did not want to get out of bed this morning.  -And there wasn't even someone there with me to keep me there.  ;)  In any case...

You can get the HERE'S LUCY DVD set for less than $10 from several Amazon sellers....it is worth it for the rehearsal and blooper reels.

Unseen LUCY is always a bonus for her fans.   And you get to almost be there for a filming - see it from the audience point of view for a few minutes.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Hmm...

The only Richard Burton performance that sticks in my mind is from "Equus".  :-\

As for Elizabeth Taylor... Nothing sticks. For now at least.

There's not too much on tv tonight for me. I have Canadian Idol (which started last week). And i guess i will watch ON THE LOT.

I'm too feeling too great and didn't sleep much. I was watching the baby last week and she was sick (double ear infection). I don't think i have an ear infection (since my ears don't hurt = plus i don't even know if you can catch an ear infection). But i have this horrible drip in my throat and was coughing all night. :(

RE: the Tonys. I thought they were just okay.

I think my favorite musical number was actually CURTAINS.  For the Tonys i don't really care for solo or duets. I like to see big splashy all out group numbers.

I think my favorite speech was probably Julie White. She was so surprised (as was i since everywhere i read said either eve or angela would win). I also thought mary louise wilson was great!

Tuesday greetings!  I had to be to work an hour earlier than usual today and I may get to leave 2 hours earlier than usual - what a deal!

On my walk to and from my early meeting at the YWCA, I saw some more City Life sculptures - Stormy Weather, Crossing Paths, Unconditional Surrender, and Second Hand News.  I'd been wondering why we didn't have one in front of the library, but I guess it's because they don't have one named Bottom Feeder.

Since there was some discussion about James Thurber, I thought I'd share one of my favorite historic sites here in Ohio:

Thurber House

in Columbus.

RE closed captioning on DVDs:  DH Richard and I have become very dependent on it!  My book group ladies were very surprised when I used it for our viewing of Vanity Fair a while ago.
