Should I just go to Carney's and eat a few hot dogs?

I'm REALLY hungry.  Maybe I'll have some gross avacado chips.  Maybe I won't.

We'll be doing at least two numbers from Newsies in our fundraiser show, which, in case I haven't mentioned it, is an evening of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz songs.

Menken and Schwartz songs (together or separately) would get my hienie into a seat!  Can I at least buy a cd of the benefit?

Remember, we're speaking breathily like Marilyn Monroe. . . .

YES!  I don't know a lot about the economics of these things, but if bk could get the performers to allow it, it seems to me that the production costs wouldn't be all that much more to record the live event, and the CD sales could raise a lot of money for the organization!  But I don't know if the mechanical rights make it prohibitive.

Hey, Amy! Your fan letter to Beverley was read on Showtime this weekend. I just finished listening to the show.  I try to listen live on Saturday at 5pm but I was busy this weekend so I couldn't listen until just now. It's near the end of the show. She didn't play one of my reviews but she did like your letter.  That's nice!

I just listened to her show. That was lovely! I love her voice so much that it was a thrilled hearing her say my name! But she didn't mention how much I liked the contributions of her "man in NY". Maybe she'll mention that before your next segment?

Oh, Ben, it's also true that I have spent many hours outside on clear nights with my shortwave radio, seeing what I could pick up. (Radio Gabon was always a favorite and came in clearly.)

So do I!

I think we have the same DVD collection!

I especially love the men's chorus songs and the Reverend.

Right, I know. DR Elmore was correcting me when I said I didn't like the stage play of MOULIN ROUGE, when I really meant to say LA BOHEME.

I DO like STRICTLY BALLROOM, though.

Yes, I followed all of that just fine.

But when you wrote...

Baz Luhrman directed MOULIN ROUGE and LA BOHEME, but I was linking him to the other show for some reason.

...I didn't get the impression you were sure why you were linking Luhrmann to "Strictly Ballroom".

One movie musical I find unwatchable and banal beyond all belief is "Lost Horizon."

I know it has its "defenders".

Oh, I don't think I originally mentioned STRICTLY BALLROOM. I just said that I didn't like the stage play of MOULIN ROUGE when what I meant to say was LA BOHEME. But thanks for the reminder...I'd like to see STRICTLY BALLROOM again!

I'm in the process of replacing certain favorite albums with CD's. I have the '70's CANDIDE, but do any DR's favor other versions?
