S'far as I'm concerned, eat anything you want, just in appropriate portions. (And smaller portions if you're trying to lose weight.) And never, ever eat after 7 pm at night, or at least 3 hours before you go to bed, whichever comes first.

You can check on the web to find out the results of 90% of the dieters in this world, from whatever system - they gain back whatever weight they may have lost and end up weighing more than when they started! That's because once they've lost the weight they wanted to lose, they go right back to their old lifestyle, and you can't do that. The lifestyle has to stay changed.

The boys and I watched Von Ryan's Express just a few nights ago. I had never seen it before. Goldsmith's score anticipates some of his POTA effects from a couple of years later. Frank is Frank. Not a bad film, though.

I suspect I am the only one around that is listening to Ronnie Ronalde today! I had no idea that he was more successful in the USA than in the UK. Of course you'd need to be over 55 to remember who he was!

Sunday evening greetings! It's been a family-filled day, starting with church in Cincinnati with DH Richard, DS Rob, and his DG (Dear Girlfriend). Richard and I then had lunch at First Watch, visited the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County downtown, visited with my mother-in-law, and came home to get Richard ready for his church-business trip to North Carolina (which starts tomorrow morning at 7am). Rob took his DG back to UC, took her to lunch at Panera, and saw her off to Canton, OH, where she'll be in a 5-week intern program with the ballet company there. We received word a couple of hours ago that she'd arrived there safely.

Yesterday, I watched two whole movies on dvd.
JOSEPH ANDREWS, which is definitely NOT TOM JONES, but a fun little escapade with Ann-Margret's Lady Booby lusting after the equine Peter Firth, who may or may not be in love with his sister. It's a lot of mistaken identities, rolls in the hay, gypsy baby swapping and a great bit of fun.
THE BRIDGE TO TERABITHA - thanks to DR MattH's recommendation, I watched this and was very pleasantly surprised. I really didn't know what to expect, so the end result was completely unexpected. Gorgeous film.

I also dipped a little into THE SUN ALSO RISES, with its cast it can't be all bad, still it's Hemingway, a writer still don't appreciate. . .
