DR TCB - Sorry about the conflict within your group.  That kind of strife makes my hands break out.

Thanks, Ginny.

BK ~ About Mickey Rouke's face, I read that he's had work done trying to repair major damage from his days of boxing .. he doesn't even look like the same guy, which makes me sad cuz I always thought he was good-lookin'/attractive in that sexy "bad boy" way ...

Me too!

Today was the annual theater awards dinner for our city's largest and oldest (The oldest continuing operating community theater west of the Mississippi) theater group.  Actually, this was the awards presentation for the past two seasons, since last year's awards were skipped due to upheavals in the Artistic Directorship last summer.

I did not attend the dinner today, because I was not invited - even though I am a nominee.  After over 50 years with this theater group, my name has apparently been dropped from the mailing lists due to a personal falling out that I had last year with the man who is the new Artistic Director.

Ingrates!

Maybe you should have a native American woman accept the award for you (which you will undoutedly win) and tell them off, a la Marlon Brando.

Or have an actress pretend to be a Native American woman and decline my award, which I seriously doubt I would win anyway.

I've been seeing the promos for the new TNT show, SAVING GRACE, which premieres after  THE CLOSER a week from tomorrow and I have to say that Holly Hunter looks different to me, too. Her eyes seem so WIDE now!

I'm interested in seeing how this show will do on TNT. USA Today gave it 3 1/2 stars (out of???) and it's really different from TNT's usual fare. It seems more like a show you'd see on HBO---very "quirky" and more graphic.

That's sad...he was so hot

I am sure that not all of the attributes that Mr. Rourke has shown to the movie-going public have been altered.

Is "Saving Grace" any connection with the quirky and amusing UK film?

Wow!  This item just showed up on my e-mail.

Subject:  Do You Suffer from Leg Cramps?

On December 11, 2006, the Food and Drug Administration ordered pharmaceutical firms to halt all manufacturing and marketing of unapproved drug products that contain QUININE due to potentially fatal side effects.

There have been 665 reports of severe reactions to QUININE, and 93 people died due to his drug. Some of the most dangerous side effects include:

- Cardiac arrhythmias

- Thrombocytopenia (decrease in platelets that causes hemorrhage/clotting problems)

- Severe hypersensitivity reactions

Quinine is also known to interact dangerously with a number of other drugs. There are a number of quinine-containing products sold throughout the United States, but there is only one product currently approved by the FDA.

If you or someone you love has been injured by quinine, you may be entitled to compensation for your pain and suffering. You must act quickly, for if you hesitate the statute of limitations in your state could affect how long you have to file a lawsuit. Let us help you get the financial reward that could offset your medical bills.

I don't think it looks too amusing, but there are some funny lines.

There seem to be a lot of films with the same name, so I'm not sure which is the one you're thinking of. Do you know @ when it was made?

You can read about the TNT one here: http://www.tnt.tv/series/savinggrace/

And here's a photo from the show of Holly. Is it me, or does she look really different? She still looks like she's about a size 1....

From today's NY Times, The Outer Limits comes to DVD.

The Outer Limits comes to DVD?  What are these DVDs I've had for at least five years called The Outer Limits?  That should read - The Outer Limits comes to DVD AGAIN.

DP Colin was taking Quinine tablets (anti Malaria) when he worked in New Guinea.  He doesn't get leg cramps.

I do!

One of our most popular soft drinks "solo" contains quinine. (the bitter lemon taste).

Good Evening!

Well, the big clean up is underway, and I'm not doing any of it!  Which is just the way it should be, damnit!

-Of course, that's not to say I may end up having to a little bit of follow-up clean-up, but still...

And at least her boyfriend/lover/paramour is helping her clean up too.  Thank heavens for small miracles.

And here's Brantley's review of Patti LuPone on Gypsy.

What Ever Happened to Momma Rose?

It's sort of a positive-mixed review.  I'm more confused by it than anything else.

That should read - The Outer Limits comes to DVD AGAIN.

The first paragraph of the article says "re-released."

"This summer the 49 hourlong episodes are being rereleased on DVD in two-disc batches, as good a way as any to revisit a wildly hit-or-miss series that blended humanist moralizing and cold war paranoia with Golden Age dramaturgy, space age allure and penny arcade Expressionism."

Oh... And, yes, there was one girl who was "sick", but, thankfully, she did not make a mess anywhere.

And there was also one guy who got a bad case of cramps in both of his legs, so he ended up lying on the couch for a while.  -What is it with leg cramps today?  -Of course, he knew he was dehydrated, but he didn't want to drink any water.  He only wanted beer.  :-\
