If any DRs get the AZN channel, and have an interest...and really, who wouldn't...a new and very popular night time Hindi soap will begin tomorrow...it is called SAARA AKASH.

It is something about a group of Indian Air Force men and the women who love them...or, maybe it is about a group of women and the Air Force men that love them...I guess I will find out tomorrow.

Here is one of the stars of SAARA AKASH....

MBarnum I read about the sentencing of one of your Bollywood stars.  How do you feel about that?

Oh, and I briefly saw Allen today.  He made a delivery along our road today & quickly said hello as we were driving home.

You're going to see ACL and THEN The Brain?  Oy and vey.  We've got a lot to come up to!

Actually, I'll be surprised if we get to ACL, and I don't think I'm going to get tickets in advance.  We're already doing  a show a day and with sightseeing and just being in New York I have a feeling that it would just be too much to add another.

Well, I think maybe my external hard drive is working. The software doesn't recognize it everytime I re-boot, so I have to do a repair. There's got to be a fix for it, but at least now my work computer is safely backed up.

I'm going home...

Not sure whether the Grant thing will happen or not, which is infuriating, frankly, as we discussed this last Friday and this was the time he could do it and I cleared my sched.  He'll be done in a half-hour with what he's doing, but I know him well enough that when it gets to be this hour he gets cranky and tired and I am NOT going to have that pressure on me nor am I going to speed through, because when we do these fixes I want it to be the last set we do, and if he's just speeding from fix to fix without checking the rest of the page to make sure nothing's been screwed up, it's not going to work.  On the other hand, I don't know when else I'm supposed to do this prior to my trip.

It's 11 pm EST and I'm finally settled.  The move, which sent me to the office around noon had several glitches I will enumerate tomorrow.  By 10 pm the move was officially accomplished and we are settled.  I got here to find that during the day my absent terrorist neighbor above me had an enormous bathroom leak and my bathroom floor and carpet were soaking wet.  I am not happy, but i can do no more till tomorrow.

I will now catch up on the day.

Here's a question for those in the know NYC HHW'ers....does Luisa and/or Matt change any portion of costume for the second act?

Yes.  Matt comes back in rags which he wore in "Round and Round."  Luisa does not change costume.

DR Cilla, if Sam is 19 and loves RENT, why not let her go to SPRING AWAKENING alone. I know you didn't much care for it, and you could go to LEGALLY BLONDE on your own. Or is it important to you both that you go to something together.

Excuse my butting in, but I'm just trying to match up a previous good experience with something comparable.

I just can't see someone who likes the RENT music would be interested in more standard Broadway fare like A CHORUS LINE, CURTAINS, or LEGALLY BLONDE.

I began my evening finishing the remaining episodes on disc 1 of EIGHT SIMPLE RULES. Either I'm getting used to the bitchy daughters, or they weren't quite as obnoxious in the last three or four episodes on the first disc. I still find the forumla for the show strained and rather weak, but I guess I can see why the show pulled in enough audience its first year to get renewed. I guess many parents do have to deal with rebellious teens. I just find these teens very off-putting.

Next, I watched THE BELLE OF NEW YORK. It looks splendid; maybe not quite as sharp and intensely colorful as ROYAL WEDDING, but certainly beautiful nevertheless, and I'm not quibbling. It certainly is sharper than my laserdisc of the movie.

But LEGALLY BLONDE is soooooo entertaining, and with its (subliminal?) message about the value of education and bringing your life experience to bear upon your educational experience - really good for you (and a 19 year old).

End of unsolicited review.  :)

Next, I pulled out THE CLOSER - Season 2, and played the episode where the mailman discovers a dead body in a house while trying to deliver the mail. Loved this plot. It also had that fantastic scene with Ray Wise playing the attorney speaking for Brenda at Will's deposition. I didn't quite get to that part, but I'll finish the episode tomorrow.

I found Spring Awakening captivating, but its story is intentionally very depressing and lacking in hope.

Oh, I'm sure ALL those choices are VERY entertaining. I was just trying to equate theater music that she found enjoyable with something in the same vein. But if she's OK with more the more traditional Broadway sound (I'm currently listening to the LEGALLY BLONDE cast album in my car), go for it!
