Woman Gives Birth in McDonald's Restroom, Tries to Flush Baby Down Toilet

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —

Kansas City police are investigating a 20-year-old woman who allegedly tried to flush her newborn son down the toilet at a McDonald's restaurant after giving birth in the restroom.

Both the baby and the mother, a Kansas City resident who works at the McDonald's, were being treated Tuesday at a Kansas City hospital. Police said the child is expected to survive.

"She's being treated, and we haven't been able to talk to her to get her side of all of this," Lockhart said.
Police will then consult with prosecutors to determine what, if any, charges will be filed.

Lockhart said the woman was 32-weeks pregnant when she gave birth in the restroom. She allegedly told paramedics that she tried to flush the baby down the toilet several times, he said.

The child was still in the toilet and wasn't breathing when paramedics arrived, he said. They administered CPR on the child to get him breathing again, Lockhart said.

The paramedics then rushed the baby and mother to the hospital. Police were notified about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Lockhart said.

"The mother told paramedics that she didn't know she was pregnant," he said.

Score another victory for Abstinence Only sex-ed!

And to add even more saddnes, the baby has probably suffered brain damage.

DR. NOEL

What is the running time of your show?

I can only guess, because there's never been a run-through of the current draft (which is rather lean).  Way back before I started cutting songs like crazy, a read-through of Such Good Friends with unrehearsed actors took substantially less than two hours.  But, with our pros under the direction of a guy who believes in speed, the 109 pages should fly by.  Fast-talking types, like you get in The Front Page/His Girl Friday.  Figure less than a minute per page.

JFK is only the third closest airport to Manhattan.  A cab on a Saturday afternoon might take as long as an hour.

Tonight, I plan to watch SCARY MOVIE 4 which I recorded off Starz! and might even have time to squeeze in NUNSENSE II which I took off the to-watch shelf.

Where else can you find condolences, sexual innuendoes, messages of hope for a lost cat, and snarks about various/sundry all on the same page on the same day?

Now I ask you....

I am so looking forward to my upcoming four-day weekend.

I'm toying with making it five days, but that could be tight with a deadline or two that I'd have to meet tomorrow other than Tuesday...and that's totally dependent upon other people meeting their deadlines (which passed at noon today).

You're not looking at the coroner's eyes. He's eating Gabriel up with his eyes.

LOL-I will do that next time.

My mother has been in the hospital for the last week or so (this time around anyway), and i was there at 4 this morning because she finally passed.   Painlessly, I think.  I tell you all this because you are one of the most genuinely caring groups i know.   My mother had many holes in her lungs (which restricted her quite a bit-although she still managed to get to the grocery store and what not).  She passed away more or less how she wanted: her body, mind and money all gave out more or less at the same time (unlike many in the family).

Thank you all for just being there.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Kerry, but, as you point out, it sounds like it happened in the best possible way.

I hope you will visit HHW over the coming weeks and months and can gain strength--and, hopefully, a bit of relief-- from all our silliness.

My best to you.
Hugs.

I am so looking forward to my upcoming four-day weekend.
...

I passed up the opportunity to make my 3-day weekend a 4-day.  Since Monday is my regular day off next week they have to give me an additional day to compensate for the holiday and it easily could have been Tuesday.  I opted for next Friday, though, because it's the 22nd birthday of our DS Rob.

Well, I haven't cleaned the den, so that's first on the list when I go back down. Then, maybe another chapter of DEATHLY HALLOWS, and then back to TV for the evening.

Cute.

Sherlock likes to munch on apples.  Keith always saves some of his apple & slowly rotates the core while the boy gentle nibbles on the apple.

Where else can you place your roller bag in a public stall?  Unless you use the handicap one there usually isn’t room anywhere else.

That's the spirit, Jane.  Just because that shady-looking airport policeman says it means something ugly doesn't mean that's what it meant.  From the looks of him, I'm betting he has had a "troubled" past himself.

My Dickens used to LOVE popcorn.

Funny you should mention that, since Minx LOVED to eat popcorn with me; Dixie Bell could care less about popcorn!  (Of course, one of Dixie's daily treats is a salt-free rice cake).
