I ended my evening with a new episode of RESCUE ME. There was a weird dream to start the show, and some more fun doings with Probie Sean who desperately wants to be labeled an alcoholic because he had two Long Island Ice Teas the night before.

And as DR elmore stated earlier, I did indeed end up dining with him and the Gilfry's. What wonderful people to have dinner with. Even DR elmore.

We supped on large portions of Jewish food - kreplach, matzoh ball soup, pastrami reubens, chopped liver, stuffed cabbage, rye bread, challah rolls and Doc Brown's Cel-Ray!

And for dessert, we had some cookies from Levain - DR elmore and I had picked them up on the way to dinner. And then Rodney Gilfry and I also enjoyed some Grom gelato.

*And I'm guessing that I've found a fellow foodie in Mr. Gilfry too.

And now I'm back at my apartment. The party for my roommate, Megan, is starting to die down, but it looks like it was a decent party. She actually ran out of food and drink. Right now, a bunch of people are huddled around her laptop watching favorite YouTube Clips. -Boys, kids today really know how to have fun!

DR Cason - Of course, if you had checked you messages earlier, you might have taken pictures of some other people tonight.

-Did you really have a bad meal at Westway? I wouldn't call the food there "stellar", but it's always been "good" to "passable". Although, I have to say, after the remodeling they did a couple of years ago, I've thought the food has been missing something. Maybe they just cleaned off the old cooktop a little too well.

Cason, that was just like being there, which, of course, I was. Miss Patti is still there, trying to eat that roll. She broke three teeth trying. Why wasn't I invited to eat with the Gilfrey's? Especially since he likes the Brain CD. Methinks elmore needs a good kick in the you-know-what and I'm the one who's going to give it to him.

And while waiting for the Gilfry's to arrive at the corner of 72nd and Amsterdam, we happened to run into an old friend of mine from college. We were in the same piano studio, he was a few years ahead of me. In any case, it turns out he's about to head back out on the road as the Associate Conductor for the new tour of Whistle Down The Wind. Alas, since he was on his way to meet a friend, and since we were on our way to dinner, we didn't get to catch up that much, but the short time we spent on the corner was nice.

And it also turned out that he had attended this year's Helen Hayes Awards down in DC. And he told me tonight that he had heard my name announced/acknowledged during the acceptance speech by the winning Musical Director for Cabaret. That was very nice to hear. And it was also nice to see Bryan again too. -And I think DR elmore liked seeing him too.

No, no - the food this evening was fine. It was just the roll that was a little...dry. Thankfully I had some cream of broccoli soup to dip it in. BJ and BK didn't have the same such luck.
