Well I had quite a busy evening. I took all the drywall off the walls in my basement room that I'm redoing.  It is all now piled up outside the door where it will be picked up and taken to the dump tomorrow morning.  I was looking lovely in my goggles and mask all covered in dry wall dust.  Charming.  It was a lot of work, but underneath is a poured cement room.   I am not going to put up new sheet rock, which means I need the electrician to come before I can do anything else.

So other than cleaning, there isn't anything else I can really do until he comes which won't be until Tuesday. Which will give me time to plan and figure out exactly what I'm going to do with the room.  What fun

I really must decide it is spelled Freddy or Freddie. I think Freddy.

Mike - did you check back at the garage where he was trapped last time?

We did have a little rain (very little) around 7:30 this evening, but it didn't cool things down much.

I began my evening watching another CLOSER episode from On Demand. It was the one with the serial killer who branded the women's feet. As enjoyable as usual.

DR Michael...have you looked around the neighborhood? Called the local shelter?  Even though he has a chip, maybe they haven't checked it.  Have you posted signs in the neighborhood?  I know I always look closely at signs posted and keep an eye out for the animals.

Iowa Court rules same sex couples can marry

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/08/30/iowa.samesexmarriage/index.html

The judge made the exact point I always try to make; that any couple has the right to enter into a civil marriage.  If churches oppose same sex marriages, so be it; don't allow them to marry in your church.  But there is a separation of church and state; and whatever the churches opinion is, should in no way interfere in a person's civil rights.

Next was Val Kilmer IS Moses in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: THE MUSICAL. Oh, dear, where to start.

Well, it was a GIGANTIC production. And very expensive looking. My heart ached when I saw money spent on this and taped, scored, etc. so expensively, and we have no video version of classics like FOLLIES. There ought to be a law!

I don't know why I wasn't expecting it, but I had no idea it was a pop opera. Ugh! My least favorite style of musical. On the other hand, I did like a few of the melodies. But those LYRICS!!!! Someone needs a rhyming dictionary. The WORST rhymes I've heard outside of rap lyrics. Such lazy, clumsy rhymes. Gag!

The principal singers had super powerful voices. Yes, they were miked (hate those wrap around face mics), but these singing actors had range and power.

And Val Kilmer surprised me. Yes, he was BY FAR the weakest of the principal singers, but he didn't embarrass himself as a singing actor, so I guess that's a plus for him.

I HATED that the DVD wasn't enhanced for widescreen TVs. I mean, if you're going to shoot it in 16:9, why not do an anamorphic transfer while you're at it?

Next came 16 BLOCKS. I got this DVD for Christmas last year, and I've watched it three or four times. It's an excellent and underrated litttle thriller. For the first time, I looked at the alternate ending for the movie. I MUCH prefer the ending they used in the theatrical release.

I finished my evening with MAD MEN.

Oh, my, Don's marriage looks to be slowly crumbling. And Pete's marriage is looking none too happy either.

Cillaliz, you always amaze me with your projects. I know you say you don't do that sort of thing all the time, but when you do, you do it BIG TIME! No, I would NOT tear out drywall.

Yep.  That was one big ole mess on stage of the Kodak Theatre!

As for the scoring, I think it was just a pit of ten players, four(!) of which were on keyboards.  And one of the drummers was on a drum machine!
