I just made a totally frivolous purchase:  the complete MAD magazine [well, at least through 2005/2006] on one archival disc!  :)

Not so frivolous. I suspect there are a few of us here who were MAD fanatics back in the day. Boy, in the 1960s, I awaited each with great anticipation, and while I still have a few of mine from back then, I probably wouldn't mind seeing earlier years and what followed after I moved on.

You can't get his phone number, DR TCB: He's just pixels.

And you don't think of TCB as just a tad bit pixel-lated?

I'm probably going to be shot at dawn and kicked out of HHW for admitting this, but-

I've never seen it.    For shame...

It remains unexplored.  8)

Off to work....during this lively Mars retrograde.  Retrace your steps and then trod your path.  ;D

Uh, could you be more specific? Rethink one's plans? Review one's work?   ???

CD - The 2007 Edition of CAROLS FOR A CURE

DVD - "A Date With Judy"

DVR - LEGALLY BLOND the musical which I recorded from MTV and haven't had the desire to watch yet
"
BINGO!

I've been stricken with that same lack of desire...even when it comes to putting it o a DVD.

That's due to a serious lack of time and some movies I seriously want to watch that are sharing DVR cache space with "Legally Blonde".

Turner is running some complete serials like all the "Doctor Kildare" movies, all the "Andy Hardy" movies and all the "Maisie" movies in the coming week(s).

I've got to get through some of those cached films this weekend or there'll be hell to pay on deciding what stays and what goes.

I LOVE deciduous trees! I planted a sweet gum at my house in San Diego. Very few "trees of color" there.

Was one of JRand's shots of a sweet gum? Perhaps the first?

I've never seen it.  Movie or a stage production.  I certainly know the score, and I've even read the libretto and Shaw's Pygmalion.  But I've never seen it.    :-[    And I even own the Special Edition DVD!  For shame...

Wow!  An actual CHINK in your body armor?  And you show it to all of us!

I'm surprised we haven't gotten more comment about the season premiere of PROJECT RUNWAY.

There are a lot of gay men in the mix this year (though the jeans designer - Kevin? - had to make sure that we knew he was straight).

I did think the winner's dress was very elegant thia week. And the baby doll dress that got slammed by the judges for being too safe. That fabric was gorgeous. I would love to have seen a longer gown done with that material.

As "Project Runway" conflicts with "Life", I had to record it.

Watched it last night.

Wonderful mix of designers/personalities, many of whose claws will be revealed in next week's edition judging from the previews.

Loved the one judge's (Nina?) comment about that blue dress from the "free spirit" designer who "flows" and "whooshes" her discussions about her design:

She said it looked like "the model was pooh-ing fabric."

I laughed until tears streamed down my face and my sides hurt.

I LOVE this show!

TOD:  CD:  lots of great Brasilian stuff by vintage 50s and 60s Brasilian groups.
DVD:  alternating between Movies 101, which I'm reviewing (and it's a wonderful boxed set, almost revives my faith in AMC--I said almost) and Ace in the Hole, which I had yet to get around to.

Mad:  I have that older set of CD-ROMs with every issue up to whenever it was released.  Maybe one of the Mad-o-philes here can help me with this memory-buster (this one does not include a music quote):  Probably sometime between, say, 1969-1972 I got a hardback compilation of Mad that I thought was called "Completely Mad."  It was a large format hardback book with several glossy color inserts (i.e., the original Mad comics, lots of the back cover ad parodies reproduced, etc.), and I think it even had a couple of the original cardboard Mad "45"'s.  I have scoured eBay and other used book sources and can't find it--did anyone else have it, and if so what was it called?

Also I'm sure I've missed many birthdays over the past several weeks as I've been so busy, so Happy Birthday to anyone I've missed (and that's probably most of you).  ;)
