if it's not on the calendar, I'm too senile to remember anything.

I put it on, as an "event".

Also, looking ahead to December: wow!  Chock-a-block full of notable HHW birthdays!

Speaking of buying two, many years ago a friend and I both needed new cars. We car-shopped together and, as it happened, we both decided on the same make and model. We told the salesman we wanted two. "Two cars?" Yes. It took him a while to understand that we were serious, but we were then able to negotiate a better price. "You won't get this price if you change your minds." Fine. We had them equipped a bit differently and we chose different colors so we could tell the them apart. But it was still a two-car sale. It worked out quite nicely.

I brought 4 CDs with me to play in the car DVD, so I guess they will constitute my TOD:
  BABES IN TOYLAND
  THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER
"In Terra Pax" by Gerald Finzi
Betty Buckley and the Harlem Boys Choir

BABES IN TOYLAND.  Oh, I love that Tommy Sands!

I love shopping online. I was NEVER a born-to-shop person. Nooo! I loathe crowded stores. I get so sick of Christmas music. I hate looking for a parking space. Give me the Internet anyday!

Me too! I just bought a carpet for the entry hall. No shipping, no tax, and no restocking fee if I don't like it. And 1/3 of the price of the one I was considering at the local Turkish rug shop.

You said it, toots!

The internet is a BOON!

I do enjoy going out and "looking" when someone else is driving, or when it's not necessary to drive (going into San Francisco via BART).

I could enjoy it IF I could buy only if I saw something I thought someone would like, ie NO PRESSURE, no deadline. And a nice meal was part of the bargain.

Speaking of buying two...

In the summer of 2004, right after DS Rob graduated from high school, we convinced my mother (then age 85) that her word processor and email machine were both not worth repairing and she should get a computer.  The 4 of us went to the Cincinnati Apple Store and she picked out a nice eMac and printer.  I liked the bundle and the price so much that I bought the same things.  Problem was, we couldn't get 4 people and 4 big boxes into Richard's car.  So, Richard and Rob took my mom and me back to her house then went back to Cincinnati for the 2 computers and 2 printers.  Meanwhile, Mom and I set up the furniture in her guest room to accommodate the computer.  We got her all set up and the next thing I knew she was emailing Tucker Carlson at CNN.

And, DR GINNY, do you advise HER, or does SHE advise YOU?

That's a great story, DR Ginny!    :D

It was a fun day, DR Singdaw.

I just returned from the Training Room, where I, along with Jamie (the only other Michigan Wolverine in the building), took my annual dose of abuse from the Buckeyes.  I slipped Jamie my cell phone number and he called me, which made "Hail to the Victors" play through a couple of times.  He kept redialing and the Bucks got pretty sick of hearing our song.  Hope the same kind of thing happens tomorrow in Michigan Stadium.

Computer-wise, I advise her, DR Jeanne.  But for everything else, she advises me  ;)

I just put this in my DDD cart, along with a Leningrad Cowboys concert.

For anyone who hasn't seen their performance with the Red Army Choir (who appeared in our film THE INTERNATIONALE!) you owe it to yourself to take two minutes and sample it!

It's impressive, just for the shear number of headphone mics!

I love the Leningrad Cowboys.

You can't get his phone number, DR TCB: He's just pixels.

this looks like something from one of Keith's computer games.

I just made a totally frivolous purchase:  the complete MAD magazine [well, at least through 2005/2006] on one archival disc!  :)

Awesome, but on a CD how would you fold the back cover?

And you don't think of TCB as just a tad bit pixel-lated?

Was that pixel-lated, Ron, or pixie-lated?

And you all let Jane off the hook yesterday for:

"...Keith almost lost a finger working the slicking machine..."

I WAS TYPING WITH BOTH HANDS.  I HAVE RETURNED TO THE SLOW METHOD OF ONE FINGER.  I just noticed i left the caps on & I'm not correcting it. ;D
