Before I was born, my parents lived on a hillside in Sherman Oaks.

That must have been very unpleasant when it rained.   ;)

LOL Jeanne.

As you know I hate to kill anything, almost anything.  I consider mosquitoes and tics fair game.

When we lived in Pennsylvania, next to a corn field, we had a mice invasion.  After months & months of catching & releasing them (I will spare you the gory details) and vast amounts of food which had to be tossed….I reached into a drawer to get a wooden spoon when a mouse ran up my arm.  I screamed & I swear the mouse screamed before running back down my arm.

That day I’m sorry to say I called an exterminator before we had an electrical fire.

I, too, will go to great lengths to avoid killing any critters, but THERE ARE some exceptions.

I almost screamed when I read about the mouse going up your arm.

Slingblade, leave it  to you to get in the when, where, how, and who, but leave the why for a separate page.

Sing is BACK!

Did you get any sleep last night, Sing? Or maybe you figured out a shell script that would post for you while you sleep.

Off to work.  I thought today was a national holiday.

Clear so far, but I think we are expecting the rest of DR CILLALIZ's snow later this evening.

The snow slowed down and I believe is taking a bit of a more southern track.  It's not supposed to start here until 2:00Pm and now they are predicting 4-6 inches total rather than 5-8 inches total.

DR TCB - great to see you.

Why does there need to be a why?  It's never stopped me before...  :D

Music that always makes me feel good:

anything by JS Bach. I adore Bach.

Almost anything by Beethoven.

In both cases I am so awed at their talent and achievement that it restores my faith in the human race--well, in parts of it, anyway.

I also love the soundtrack to THE CHORUS. There is something about the theme that I just love. Does anyone else ever wonder WHY we love certain pieces of music, and not others? I think I love baroque music because I'm a very structured person by nature.

any other views?

DR Jeanne - I absolutely agree...

BACH just astounds me, than any human brain could have wrought such stuff.

While I certainly love listening to Bach's music, I love performing it even more.  Those contrapuntal lines stick in your mind for weeks afterward.

Let's plan a field trip to see the play BITCH MACBETH.  The title may resonate for some here.

DR FJL, I saw the posts about the Packard Humanities Institute, but I decided to not respond.  I'm afraid if I start something I'll say too much.  Perhaps if/when a recording is released, people will be more surprised because they think the project's dead.

My sister-in-law has a play written about her cheap Christmas trash existence?

I, too, will go to great lengths to avoid killing any critters, but THERE ARE some exceptions.

I almost screamed when I read about the mouse going up your arm.

;D  I called Keith at work to express my frustrations.  He laughed and said "but it was cute".  I then screamed at him "yes it was cute, but that isn't the point!" ;D

Bryan was in the yard with a friend when the mouse ran up my arm.  The friend looked up with concern.  Bryan calmly explained "it's ok, my mother just found another mouse". ;D
