I just checked in with Carlos, and it turns out he rebooked their Amtrak tickets, and they are about to head back down to DC on the 11:00am Acela. They were going to take 1:05 train, but it was already running at least 40 minutes late. And since it is originating in Boston... And since Boston and parts of Connecticut had a bit more bad weather than NYC did, well...
It was great seeing them again, and I really had a wonderful time being able to show my niece where I work and live, and what I love doing. And I was especially encouraged by the fact that she actually followed almost all of what was going on in
Mary Poppins - which for a soon-to-be nine-year old is quite a feat considering some adults can't keep track of that plot over the course of it's 2 hour and 45 minutes! She also said she liked
Mary Poppins more than The Radio City Christmas Spectacular. -Although she did think the live animals at RCMH were very neat.
