Evening all!

We had some rough weather last night.  The neighbor’s tree fell in the middle of the night.  

I didn’t know what happened when it woke me up about three this morning.  I just heard the loud crash then I couldn’t go back to sleep and was awake most of the rest of the night.   I got up to look around but couldn't see anything out the windows.

I was worried that it might be my tree or one of the sheds blew over or something else.  

When it got light, I went outside and that's when I saw the neighbor's tree on their roof.  At least it didn't seem to hurt anything.

I didn't see that poor dog again.  It rained so hard last night and I thought about the poor thing.  I hope it found someplace safe.  I wish it would come back.  I could put it in the dog pen (which has a dog house).  I could take some pictures and post them around.

Vibes, Tom.  My childhood Bassett, Happy, had to be put down the day after Christmas 1969.  I will never forget that day, so sad.

Very sad about Fogelberg, too.   Always really liked him.

A sweet, tear-inducing time at Cinderella today--Miss Oregon's charity work is for Make a Wish, and there was a 3 or 4 year old girl and her family there today as part of their wish.  Girl has cancer, is terminal.  They're going to Disneyland tomorrow for 5 days.

Guess I need to go cry after all of this.

There's the old movie "The 300 Spartans" which is indeed out on DVD.

Actually it was Fred Meyer where I saw it for $7.99 yesterday, so I guess that must be it.

Freddy's had a ton of $5 DVDs yesterday.  Their Home Electronics guy said they were overstock from the 6 hour sale the day after Thanksgiving.  I picked up Little Miss Sunshine, History of Violence and Good Night & Good Luck.

Gosh, today is a very sad day.  Vibes to that little girl and her  family and to the one with the child with the eye.  May they all have Christmas Miracles.

Roast pork tenderloin
Mashed potatoes w. mushroom gravy
Brussels sprouts w. bacon and onions

(The sprouts are still on the stalk, by the way.  They're much smaller than usual, about half the size I normally see in the store, and should be very tender.  Der B had never known that they grow on stalks, and was quite surprised to see them.)

They also offered to clean my house if I would let some volunteers stay here for a week.  It's tempting, but now knowing them and living alone...I don't think I'm up for housing college kids
