After all the discussion on this here board about the new movie ENCHANTMENT, I talked my buddy Jim into going to see it on Friday night.

Actually, he didn't take much coaxing...he said yes and didn't even know what the movie was. He must need to get out!

Maybe if he has time, in anticipation of your movie date, Jose can teach you the "surprise in a popcorn bucket" technique.  If not, I think it was in either PORKY'S or THE KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE.

Looking thru the photos of those who have passed away this year, I was surprised to see that John Inman from ARE YOU BEING SERVED had died from Hepatitis A.  I realize that he was 71, but that seems a strange cause of death.

One careless food handler can contaminate a dish with Hep A.
The elderly are more likely to die of the resulting infection for which there is no cure!

I miss all the classy films.
I've not seen Porky's, American Pie, KFM or indeed Diner.

I don't get out much.

I see on the internet that some bloggers feel that moment in DINER was the inspiration for the award-winning Justin Timberlake number "D**k in a Box."

"Enchanted" starts here on boxing Day. (Dec 26th - traditional time for giving the servants their Christmas gifts or boxes)  We have to wait until late January for "Sweeney Todd"

But seriously, DINER was a major critical hit and very well-respected.

"Diner" is quite a wonderful movie.  One of Barry Levinson's "biographical" pics.

I bought Mr Timberlake's song "Cry Me a River" (for $1). I assumed it was the old Julie London favourite.   I tried to find a melody!

And if you look closely during that scene, you can see the back of the head of my high school English teacher in the diner.  He was a "featured extra" in the film.  He actually gets quite a bit of screen time, even though none of his "dialogue" is every featured.

There's another similar scene in the Tom Cruise movie, "All The Right Moves" involving a school desk.

I'll store "diner" away in my memory bank to register again when I look in the cheap bins!

Well, the current DVD release edits out Mr. Cruise bits'n'pieces in that one scene now anyway.  ;)

The other Levinson "Baltimore movies" are: "Tin Men", "Avalon", and "Liberty Heights".

It's amazing to think of the actors who basically got their start - or at least continued their "start" - with "Diner": Paul Reiser, Steve Guttenberg, Daniel Stern, Ellen Barkin, Tim Daly, Mickey Rourke, and Kevin Bacon.

I'm finished viewing a motion picture.  And now I shall relax and listen to music whilst nosing around the Internet.

Didn't care for "Tin Men" but liked "Avalon". (The Newman score was great)

Now now, Jeffrey, I was a big fan of Herb Alpert AND Sergio Mendez.

Sergio Mendez - isn't he Mexican chef or something?

One would think that when all one can think is "DAH..." one would go to bed.
One would be wrong.

I found Bubble Up at World Market. I'd never had it before.
Don't look at me like that. I'm young; it's allowed.
