I'm listening to the complete soundtrack to the 1954 "Star is Born."  I've always liked Ray Heindhorf's arrangements and orchestrations and what he does with the orchestra (even when it's someone else's arrangements).  Considering  that most of the background music is based on "The Man That Got Away,"  you can see how brilliant he was (in my most humble but stubborn opinion).

BTW"  Continuing from yesterday,  I've always loved "To A Wild Rose," and "Forest Murmurs.
Robert Irving (more or less the Arthur  Fiedler of England) has the best recordings (again, in my humble yet stubborn opinion).  They do knock out versions of "Danny Boy" and "Santa Lucia."  We're talking orgasm here.

Max Steiner, Korngold, Newman, etc. would all have to be included as writing light classical music.

Holy Cow!  I'd totally forgotten all of them.

Well, DR MBarnum is saving you a rocker right next to him on the porch over at the old folk's home.  I hear they even have an Alzheimer's unit!   ;)

Heartbeat, it's a lovebeat
And a lovebeat is a good vibration
Oh a heartbeat it's a lovebeat
And when we meet it's a good sensation

Listen to my heart pound
Listen to my love sound
Feel it gettin' stronger (feelin' feelin')
Can't hold back any longer, 'cause a

Yes, Heindorf really made the most of his skills and brilliant orchestrations for his underscore....and "The Man That Got Away" received some truly exquisite, yearning interpolations.

In my personal hard drive, this song has been going through my head all week (I blame, and praise, "Medium" for making it happen)

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page

Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
Don't ever let them win

You know you're a geek when you wake up at 4am thinking about tweaking your computer. I went to bed at around 11  and at 4am I was wide awake.

LOL-Then I must be married to a geek.

DR Jose, thanks for the sky vibes.  Bryan just made the last flight to Portland, missed the last train home & had to take a cab, & his luggage will arrive today.  At least he slept in his own bed.

DR elmore, I too would be having anxiety attacks.  Continued no bedbug vibes!

Ben - I suffered a bit when I was a kid because of that song "Do The Freddy," although I could see where "Ben" being about a rat could be more annoying.
