It's a very summery day here too. I really don't want to be here and just may take the afternoon off again.  I get like this before a vacation.   I do have some reading to do on my structuring case - it was interesting that Spitzer's investigation started with a similar issue to one I'm working on right now- so sitting in my living room with the windows open sounds pretty good right now.

I also filled the car up with gas, although my gas meter seems not to be working correctly, or I simply don't know how many gallons my car actually holds - I don't think it's over sixteen, but maybe it is.  If it IS sixteen, then even though the meter reads that there is still a quarter of a tank, there in fact is only a gallon or two at that point.  Maybe I'll call the dealership and find out how much gas this thing actually holds.

The noise has stopped, I think they workers went to lunch.  This might be the time to get the laundry downstairs.

Do you have a book in your glove compartment about your car? It should say in there. Or google your car make and year and size of gas tank....

Or you could call the dealership and let them figure it out :)

It is very spring-like here in Rehoboth Beach.

Fletcher is sleeping atop der Brucer.

But I'm not going to take a picture.  Use your imaginations.

And yet one more load of laundry into the dryer!

And I've cleaned the kitchen counters too and started the dishwasher!

Some time ago, someone gave me a program from "Sound of Music" starring Jeannie Carson and John van Dreelen. Does it have any value?

The topic of the day
At Haines His Way
Is rhythm and rhyme.
And we've got time
To ennumerate
What makes us DRs so great:
Some DRs are snarky,
And some full of malarkey.
Some are fun;
Some can't resist a bad pun.
Some are horny
While some can be corny.
Some make us laugh-
Clever again by half!
Some talk of food
When they're of a mood.
Some are musicians
While some drive petitions.
Some are artistic
And some solipsistic.
Some wax poetic
Whilst feeling pathetic.
Some offer vibes
While some compose jibes.
But we're a great bunch,
And that ain't just a hunch!
With a leader in chief
Who's still got the beef!

I just completed an hour's worth of coaching on our grantseeking database.  The coachee was very astute and appreciative.

Now, back to reading book reviews.

Now where in the heck did that T.O.D. come from anyway?   I went back and reread the notes because I thought I missed a paragraph.

OH!

So, did anyone else keep thinking it was their phone vibrating while watching the footage of Spitzer's news conference?  I kept checking my phone each time I heard that low hum, then realized it was coming from the TV.  -And then I finally heard the reports about how some reporters had simply placed their cellphones on the podium since the news conference was called at the last minute, and some of them weren't able to get their station crews there in time!

Yep, DR Jose, I heard a tape of the news conference on NPR when I was driving home last night, heard the hum, and reached for my phone, too.

Laundry in.  They finished our section so now we have boards to walk on from the front door to the steps.  At least the workers won't be hovering around the apartment.

My biggest faux pas concerns Ethan Mordden, Rebecca Luker, Harold Rome, Dorothy Rodgers and me at a performance of the Equity Library Theatre production of WISH YOU WERE HERE, and I'm saving it for the memoirs.

I won't live long enough to read your memoirs, so can you just e-mail me the story?

The only faux I can remember was coming out on stage during HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS in 1981 with my fly unzipped. I realized the problem midway through the scene and as I didn't have to do much in the scene (no dancing), I left it alone until I got offstage.

No one (either castmates or audience members that I knew) mentioned they had noticed anything, but ever since then I check my fly before I ever walk out on a stage.

A fellow actor pointed out to me a few years ago, that as I inhale for my first breath onstage, and my body begins its first step to walking onstage; I have an unconscious habit of brushing my hand over my fly to be sure that it was closed.  After having it pointed out to me, I have caught myself doing it.  On one show I found myself doing it, even though the pants I was wearing in this show had no fly.

Some friends want to fix me up on a blind date... And it turns out the person they want to fix me up with is a restauranteur... Who happens to manage two pretty nice restaurants here in NYC... Hmmm...

For those who fly frequently.....I have been checking flights to Memphis from Portland. There are no non-stops. The flights with one stop (in Denver) only give you about 20 minutes to change planes. That doesn't seem like much time to me...flight lands at 2:22Pm and next flight departs at 3:00pm.

Is that normal, or is in necessary to book my flights in a different fashion (Peasant dress and black sandles).

I hate it when things like that happen.  My TV sound is sometimes so real that I jump up to answer the phone only to learn it's a phone ringing on the TV show (or movie) that I'm watching.

This also applies to knocks at a door.

Thus far, however, I've managed to avoid "low humming" and wondering if it's happening to me.

I don't think the high got quite as high as they were forecasting. It was a bit too chilly to sit comfortably on the porch. But that was OK because I got quite a bit of mail.

Among the review discs that came in today were BEE MOVIE (complete with a lot of ridiculous publicity junk: yellow and black antenna and small bottles of honey).

ENCHANTED on Blu-ray also came in today, but since BEE MOVIE streets today, I had to do it first. More about it in a minute.

That's closer to 40 minutes, but it's a bit tight.  At least, it's tight for a large airport.  How large is the Denver airport?  And is there a way to find out whether your connecting flight would be leaving out of the same terminal?

While I ate lunch, I watched the OLD CHRISTINE episodes from last night.

The first was the funniest as old CHristine is fixed up on a blind date by new CHristine. Only new Christine is too much of a space cadet to notice that the guys she's set Christine up with is 19 (Old Christine is 40). I really laughed a lot at all the uncomfortable situations that transpired and all the catty remarks being made. And when the kid's MOTHER comes to get him after he runs away from home, it was just too funny.
