DR RLP - I hope you took advantage of the Gold Box and got Girl Next Door....for 8 dollars less than I paid.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It's fun, and the extras are interesting.
I listened to the commentary on BLACK WIDOW last night by Mr Alan Rode. Mostly it was a list of the films of the various people. He touched on Gene Tierney's problems and read a paragraph or two from her book. And he added a couple of interesting items about the film itself.
Much publicity was made about a $2000 dress that was made for Ginger Rogers and there are several pictures of her in it, but it isn't in the movie. Seems to have been a scene in her dressing room that didn't make it.
Rode has a big problem with names - Bea Benaderet becomes Bea Benaderek.
And I don't think this is right:
Skip Homeier - he pronounces it as Ho-mee-ay
Virginia Leith - he pronounces as LYth....I don't think either is correct.
He also points out a combination of a location shot and a studio shot that just wasn't possible....the cab pulls up and Heflin gets out. The cab wasn't shot in NYC....couldn't have been. No cut, no dissolve, no traveling matte.
