He's been in the attic, under the house - still nothing.  I really wish he'd go back to the outside breaker box and recheck that particular breaker for corrosion since that's what fixed the other thing.

A simple instrument reading at the breaker box would eliminate the breaker as the cause.

Apropos the lamb puppet in the current Broadway revival of Gypsy:

As one wag has written on the Internet:

...[the production] leaves poor Laura Benanti singing "Little Lamb" to a Muppet wrapped in a shmata. Come now!  People spend good money in the theatre; they want to see LIVE farm animals!

;D

Yeah, those shows they used to have over on 8th Avenue with the live animals cost a lot more than GYPSY's ticket price.

There are lots of single men in your area - they're just not interested in single women. :)

der Brucer

In reality the number of women not interested in men is far greater here.

But onstage and backstage...look out!

No, I'm sure he's a lovely gentleman.

Having worked with the gentleman in question, I can assure you that Shuler is "lovely". ;)

For the past couple of weeks the electricity in the guest bathroom as well as the little area outside of it as well as one switch in the den has been out.  Not the breaker.  I've just been lazy about calling the handyman, but when I awoke this morning, the electricity is now out in the entire den, and we cannot have that!  So, he's coming over, sometime before one to scope it out.  I have no idea what it could be.  All the other rooms have full electricity.  I do hope it's not a difficult fix.  He actually didn't want to come because the business manager who handles the house took two months to pay him for the last problem he fixed.  I told him that I'd pay him and then deal with them, which just seems much easier.

Well, if he can't fix it, I understand that Earl Holliman is good with his hands.

Well... Time for me to head down to Lincoln Center to see South Pacific!  -I'm actually very much looking forward to seeing this production for a number of reasons.  Besides being able to hear the score being played by a 30-piece orchestra, I have two former students making their Broadway debuts in this production!  :)

I did get the front yard mowed. Because we've had a good amount of rain and the temps have been warm for the last month, the grass was actually quite high in spots, so it took longer to get it done than usual. Thankfully, there was a steady breeze blowing so I didn't get too hot doing the work.

Not one of my favorite things to do, of course.

Does that mean you had to mow the lawn and do a daily cleaning project, Matt?  Or was this in place of mopping the friggen kitchen?

I'm told the 134 is okay to the 5, so we'll brave the 5 today, which will probably add forty minutes to today's drive, and all because of bush trimming.

They should have started bush trimming about eight years ago.

Tacoma used to have The Frugal Gourmet, who turned out to be The Gay Gourmet, as well.

Woody owns a restaurant?Oh, like I'm the only Gay Gourmet.  I'm not even the only one here in Rehoboth!

And I doubt anyone could get away with a Woody statue in front of the joint on the highway side.

Well, there is the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland; and like Shakespeare himself, a lot of them prefer to it with all men.

There was a restaurant in DC that would routinely feature menus and food items that were featured in currently running movies.  They did dinners that went along with "Babette's Feast", "Like Water for Chocolate", and, of course, "Big Night".

I think "Babette's Feast" was their first "Movie Dinner".  -They actually would make an evening out of it.  You would have the dinner, then see the movie.  However, they soon switched that order to seeing the movie first and then having the dinner.  This way, nothing was "spoiled" when the customers went to see the movie.  -And, more importantly, it prevented people from falling asleep in the movie theatres due to their full stomachs.  ;)

Did I ever mention (of course I did, I repeat everything), that I attended a Babette's Feast that was served in a haunted 11th century castle in Denmark?  We never did see the ghost, but there were plenty of other spirits that evening.

DR JANE - the shelves are look scarier than they are.  But they are much more unorganized than I would like them to be....they are shelved by subject and author, though.

Hurray, DR JOSE will have a SOUTH PACIFIC report tomorrow!

Interesting Reidel column, DR JOSE.

My guess is he didn't like GREASE.  Or the horse it rode in on.

"_______ is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values.

I can see, historically:

A.   Hair
B.   Oh Calcutta!
C.   Godspell
D.   Jesus Christ Superstar
E.   Rent

But Grease?

Or my favorite "Let My People Come"

It was great.  It was part of an all-expense paid weekend in Denmark, put on by SAS for some of their top travel agencies on the West Coast.
