It appears that the final Broadway performance of RENT may be broacast live to some movie screens, much as the Metropolitan Opera does now.

Interesting...

Sometimes when you are trying to block a play, the actors suddenly forget that they have ever been onstage before, and can't figure out that we are blocking for a thrust stage and SO they shouldn't read the stage directions for a proscenium play.

Just listen to me and WRITE IT DOWN.  We are running Act One again this evening.

BK---
Just thought you'd like to know that all the proofreading you do is worth it.  I have every book you've written to date and I have never found a typo or other error.  So many books I read have numerous errors and in non-fiction books factual errors that it is refreshing to find books that are not only well-written  and enjoyable, but are also error free.  Keep up the good work.  Your readers appreciate it.

Thursday morning greetings!  I'm off to a meeting at a nonprofit and will be back about lunchtime.

TOD - I rarely know what's going on in international intrigue movies, but I do like The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger.  Do Air Force One and Traffic count?

DR Elmore - I'd noticed that For Sale sign on your Dad's property on my way home last Saturday and knew you'd be relieved.

That is one faboo cover, BK...except, why is he hugging a woman??  If he's a hot pants homo, shouldn't he be shown hugging another man? ;)

I agree completely. Would have worked a lot better for me if he had been hanging on to a man.

Good morning!

Another cool enough morning to open things up and let the attic fan cool down the house. Love mornings like this. It's going to get into the 80s today.

I have two shows from last night to watch (LAW & ORDER and BOSTON LEGAL), but I don't feel in any great hurry to watch either, especially BOSTON LEGAL.

I'll be starting EXES AND OHS today, and will likely give the afternoon over to it. Then, I'll probably watch LAW & ORDER to lead into tonight's prime time line-up.

Back from errands with Jo, and I'm soon off to lunch with the estate's attorney. It's more social than business, but I need to address issues such as closing the estate account,  the settlement of an insurance claim, and, if my brothers continue the rental nonsense, which I now doubt, my asking for a buy-out. I'm also curious to learn what the price of land around my dad's property is currently going for. We've had a request from the State/City to buy the strip of land in front of the house to widen the highway.

Since I doubt the Macbeths won't exert any energy into maintaining the property, I do think the rental agenda may be a passing fancy.

As for the remainder of the day, I have some Brain surgery I carried with me.

Last night's "AI":  I find it most peculiar, odd and exceedingly strange that any records might have been set in the voting when viewership is down.

And I find it very hard to comprehend that Cook beat Archuleta by 12 milliion votes!

I read an interesting story online yesterday afternoon about how the Idol producers "wanted" Cook to win because he would be an easier talent to manage than would be Archuleta.  David A. was, to them, someone who would come with some unmanageable baggage (i.e., his father) and that David C. would be a more comfortable fit.

I hope they do better by David C. than they did by any of the previous winners, none of whom had great success with the Idol-management-produced CD debuts.

Did anyone else think Carrie Underwood looked a bit like street trash?  She's taken on a "hard" look.  I barely recognized her voice, either.

I only saw Underwood and part of Gladys Knight's number with the stupid trio backups.  Very unfunny stuff, IMO.  Knight was, as always, superb.

Simon's "seemed-like-an" apology to David C. was a bit much.  The damage was done.  There are times when the producers ought to take the judges "out" of the competition and keep them silent.  That included last night, too, I feel.

I think that is my new philosophy.

Those "new philosphies" seem to be blowin' in the wind these days.  At least you're "regular" about them.    ;D

The only way I can account for the suspicious vote totals was that they gave four hours over to voting. I haven't voted for the finale choices in several years, but I don't remember it being four hours for voting during the Aiken/Studdard contest.

DR Jose re: IDOL going over.  I was not surprised. They did the exact same thing last year!

I just really wish that they could start announcing the winner at 9:45pm and then things wouldn't feel so rushed at the end. I know they want to drag it till the very end. But i would love to see the reactions. Tonight I will record IDOL EXTRAS to see all that.

Oh and DR MattH re: IDOL again and simon's recanting of his comments the night before.

Wow we seem to be on opposite ends of everything these days. Because I was really delighted by his remarks. I thought that he had done a huge disservice to David Cook the night before. ANd I was very pleased that when he watched back the show he realized what he had done and corrected things.

It is possible that he was gently nudged in that direction. But i still feel the apology was warranted.
