Yes i think the higher voting totals for IDOL could have been due to the 4 hour voting periods. And did they always have multiple lines for each contestant? (i think they did last year).

I wish someone would do a book or a documentary on the artists and models who were responsible for all of those fantastic book covers in the 40s and 50s!

Here is a funny story about IDOL.

Yesterday morning after i emailed my mom and her co-worker the dialidol results which are accurate if they say they know who won (which they did). My mom's friend called her mom and made a bet with her on who was going to win last night's show. :)

It was only $2. But my mom thought this was pretty funny!

Hello, everyone.

I shall meet with a real estate agent today and show her my house. Thus I must finished cleaning and tidying and such. Thankfully, I'm not a messy person, but I HATE having to put EVERYTHING away!

Well, I need to take a shower, get dressed, print directions to where I'm picking up TCB, then pick up TCB for our mini-PNW HHW Gathering 2008! :D I'm bringing my camera.

Have a good day, all!

I agree completely. Would have worked a lot better for me if he had been hanging on to a man.

I suspect that the cover is what worked best for the times in which it was printed.  The title was the giveaway, but the art work made it easier/more acceptable for a closeted male, married or single, to take the book to the cashier of the drugstore in the town where he is known by the store's staff.  It's a curiousity item, but the male-female cover made it "okay".

BK---
Just thought you'd like to know that all the proofreading you do is worth it.  I have every book you've written to date and I have never found a typo or other error.  So many books I read have numerous errors and in non-fiction books factual errors that it is refreshing to find books that are not only well-written  and enjoyable, but are also error free.  Keep up the good work.  Your readers appreciate it.

Much appreciated!

Nice synchronicity title o' the day, as I just posted a review of the BBC miniseries Cranford, wherein I quote Imelda Staunton's town gossip:  "We are in the throes of an emergency of the highest order."

There is one about one of the artists which I just saw and I can't for the life of me remember where.  It may have been an extra on a DVD I reviewed.  I'll have to think on it--I remember very clearly them showing the different versions of covers through the years as the guy adapted his style to different eras.

Arrrgh--now it's driving me crazy (a short, scenic excursion).  I think this illustrator was from SF, he was quite old in the interview segments and they showed his cover art going back to the 40s or 50s.  I'm pretty sure now it was an extra on a DVD but for the life of me I can't figure out what it was.

That looks like a wonderful book DR Ginny...although it looks to deal with the writers of those novels, rather then the cover artists or models....but still a book I may just need to buy!! Thanks for posting it!

Well, well, well. Said new real estate agent was supposed to call me at 1:00, so we could set up a time for her to see my house. No call. I phoned her, only to learn that she'd been on the phone chatting with my friend (and real estate agent) Sue, in LA.

That is the question o' the day - how can we still be on page three.  Not just because FJL is in absentia - a LOT of people are in absentia these days.
