Quote from MattH.I believe she played Gail Green.  I never watched the show, so I am not sure who Gail Green was character-wise.  She may have been the wife of Gerald McRaney?

If she was Skeet Ulrich's mother (and I believe she was), she was in one episode, a very important one near the end of the season. She's only in two scenes, but they are memorable moments.

Good morning!

A few degrees cooler today (still in the 90s, though) and they're saying there might be some rain this afternoon. I did hear thunder in the far distance last night, but the showers missed us. Maybe today. We could sure use a break.

Yes, DR JMK, that BD-J stuff on NATIONAL TREASURE 2 came fast and furiously, much more so than on ENCHANTED.

Good for Samsung for issuing firmware updates on their equipment. I wish all electronic companies would be more conscientious about that.

As of now, I have a play day for viewing and am trying to sort out my options. At some point today (if all goes according to plan), I'll be watching the Blu-ray of COMPANY. I have the sDVD of ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS that I'd like to watch today, too. (I've been humming "Style" all morning, absolutely my favorite song from the score of that movie.)

I'll be finishing up the last episode of season 1 of NCIS today while I cook and eat lunch. So, lots to see today.

TOD:   Ask bk:

Onstage or off, have you ever had the opportunity to throw a pie in anyone's face?  Have you ever been the recipient of a pie in the face?

And how were last night's homemade pineapple pies?

Oh, I forgot to mention the pies - they were excellent and everyone loved them and ate them all up.

I can't remember if I put the pie throwing incident in Kritzerland or not, but I did a talent contest with my then best friend (I was probably twelve) at the Pan Pacific Theater - we did a knockoff of The Honeymooners, and at the end we did a huge pie throwing thing - I loved Soupy Sales and the Stooges.  Little did I know that they used shaving cream as the basis for their pies - I went out and bought five real lemon-meringue pies.  They HURT!  But it was funny and we won the contest.

I've seen a few episodes, but I wasn't attached to it or anything.

I was worried that you might not enjoy the musical version if you hadn't seen the TV series.

It was interesting that Enchanted's "game" always worked on our player, but the National Treasure "bonus view" stuff didn't until this upgrade last night.

A co-worker called me to let me know he won't be in for a while.  A wildfire is blazing about a quarter-mile from his house.  He and his wife packed their most essential valuables in her car and she went to work.

He is waiting it out.  He can see the firefighters working hard to contain/put out the blaze, but he doesn't take anything for granted.  He will stay by his home until he's either ordered to leave or until he knows, one way or the other, if the fire is contained or if his home is in its path.

I hate this part of being in California.  Everything is very dry and the fire season has started way early.  We've also had high winds the past couple of days, and they complicate firefighting efforts dramatically.

I guess I'll head down now to check the mail (my fun afternoon and evening depend on it) and then think about lunch preparation.

Scanning photos for my cousin.

Sounds like the reading went well last night.....making changes that are welcomed is always nice....as opposed to the way some changes are met.

Gordon Ramsey always seems to have Beef Wellington on the menu on Hell's Kitchen.  It is a classic, I suppose.  I'm curious to know how one can tell if it's done if it is enclosed in puff pastry.

DR JEANNE - my cousin Lana wore her white fur to the prom, too....but I think hers was a jacket rather than a stole.
