It has been a very uneventful day.  Except for paying an exhorbitant amount of money to my mechanic for a tune-up and four new tires.

And the word of the day is: PRINK!
"I think I'll PRINK in pink!" Barbie exclaimed as she examined herself in the mirror.  Of course, since she said the exact same thing every day, Ken just rolled his eyes and poured himself his first cosmo of the morning.

I shall not have access to ye olde laptop tomorrow evening, and since the television is not in the same room as the desktop, I shall not be able to post during the Tonys, except during commercial breaks.   :(

his first cosmo of the morning.

Which, coincidentally, was also pink.

...I also remember an incredibly simple recipe for "Cheese Crisps" from Natalie Durpree (who I guess was the "original" Paula Deen)....

There is nothing especially original about Paula Deen.   :-\

Ah, Ginny, I picture you sitting there like James Stewart in REAR WINDOW, with binoculers in one hand and you posting online with the other.

Comfort  and recovery vibes to you!

The thought of DH Richard playing Grace Kelly is strangely satisfying and disturbing at the same time.

Who is there to be DR Ginny's Thelma Ritter, that's what I want to know!

It has been a darn busy day...had very good luck thrift store shopping and found some nice vintage treasures. Also bought a nice 1950s display case for the dining room...which means I will have to move the book case out of there an into the garage....I now will have more furniture in my garage then in my house!

However the thrift store that is delivering the display case will also be relieving me of some of that extra furniture.

After a hearty lunch at Star India I popped over to Fred Meyer's and bought some drought resistant plants for the south side of my home environment. I planted them and then did some more yard work and now I am pooped.

I know it is late but I may have to take a nap.

I shall be working tomorrow, but only from noon 'til six.  And I have informed the management that, due to the Tony broadcast, I will not be interested in staying for overtime - this show tune queen has priorities!

(Said management chortled appreciatively.)

WELCOME JULIE C40!

I'm sorry it too so long to give you a proper welcome.

Our son just sold his loft in the Pearl district as he is moving to North Chicago.  We, my husband, dog & I,  also live in Oregon, at the bottom of I5 in lovely Ashland.

JMK, If you happen to come and check out messages tonight, just want to let you know I found out that information on my own about Levain Bakery.  It's about 2 miles from my hotel so I'm sure it will not be a problem to bring some of those cookies home to you...for a price...uh, if they make it home. :)

TOD

Der Brucer and I have a favorite cheese shoppe in town.  Beautiful Foods (click for news article) has all sorts of wonderful 'stuffs that we don't sell at the supermarket, but it's the cheese selection that is the real highlight.

There was, for instance, the time that der B bought a magnificent bleu that was so creamy and tangy that it qualified as an aphrodesiac.  Typically, his daughter detests bleus in any form, and when we took it with us as part of a cheese board before a Christmas dinner, she insisted that it not be in the same room as she.  "I cannot stand the smell!" she proclaimed.  So we put it in the one room she never enters - the kitchen.

More recently, when I decided to try my hand at a risotto, it was der B who suggested that we get the appropriate Parmesan at B.F.   I still haven't told him how much I paid for the wedge, but it has been aged two years and is worth every crumb.

This leaves us in real danger this summer, when we are trying to economize.  Every Tuesday, the Rehoboth Beach Farmer's Market convenes at a park in town.  Rather than battle the traffic, we're choosing to park outside of town and walk in.  Our route, of course, passes right by Beautiful Foods.  Will we be tempted?  Yes we will, every week!

Life is good.

BTW, our music performance this afternoon was awesome (I thought).  Didn't have a huge crowd but it was a pretty good turnout since it was a beautiful day here in the Pacific NW!

Jose, let us know how the show was you are going to tonight.  We have tickets to see it when I get to NY.

Tonight's dinner will not be cheese-friendly, however.

I'm fixing a mess of Ginger Ground Beef, which I hope will be tasty.  With lots of onions, and rice.

And a green salad, for which I'll be attempting a pommegranite vinaigrette.

Cheese just doesn't seem to be on the horizon tonight.

DR Ginny, I haven't got to extend my wishes for a speedy recovery yet so I
I sat here and squeezed both my arms really hard, hug like, and squeezed my eyes shut...and let all the good vibes fly out to you! :)  I hope that works because I can't cross my arms and blink like I use to! :)

DR S. Woody White, Wow!  That's sounds amazingly good!  I just had a slice of pizza and a greek salad, which was pretty good but yours sounds much tastier!  Savor it for me, would you?
