NOW that comment makes sense!    :P

Good for Patti!

-And that was after she stopped singing in the middle of her number because she could not hear the music while she was singing.  Apparently, the on-stage monitors dropped out after the intro.  -And did so a few times during the rest of the rehearsal.  So... {fingers crossed}

I think it's eight o'clock for us.  Remember spoilage, but talk about any and everything else.

I do wish it was like the Oscars where we could all watch together.

DR Matt - are you sure CBS is broadcasting it in HD?  It would be swell, but I had read on the chat boards there was some uncertainty about that.

I'm heading downstairs now to watch the regular show on the HDTV and type on the laptop. Be prepared for many typos.

If we can read DR vixmom's typing, we can read anybody's!

Yes, that would be optimal.

Mikey, that's why God invented the TV Guide. I would guess 8 pm, PST.

TV GUIDE said so, but they've been wrong before.

Well, most of the "rest" of the show will be made up the various musical numbers and the awards.  -And some loooooong commercial breaks.  *And even though I think it would be "nice" to have someone subsidize the awards to broadcast them on PBS, I do think that it's a good thing that CBS can still sell all that commercial time during the broadcast.

*And, frankly, if it was moved to PBS, I have a sneaking suspicion the ceremony would be prone to drag.  At least the network has to keep things moving.

So the only thing we shouldn't comment on are the award winners?  We can talk about the production numbers?

**And here's a bit of "insider info" - One of Whoopi Goldberg's requirements for hosting this year's Tony Awards was that each new musical be able to perform somehow during the broadcast.  -Consequently, the musicals that were nominated for Best Score, but not in the Best Musical category, will be performing as part of the "listing" of the Best Score nominees.

-And even though I can't remember the exact order, the presentation of the awards is quite varied.  There are some biggies up front.

It's a good way to open the show.  The lead gal is struggling a bit, vocally, though.

I was in another tab "watching" the pre-show, which was quite glitchy on my computer.  Of the 12 awards presented, though, I'd correctly predicted 8 - not bad for a Midwesterner.
