DR JulieC40, you have had an emotional and probably difficult week.

***POSITIVE VIBES*** for job prospects, good interviews, and great news ahead!   :)

I really wish Cheyenne Jackson was going to be in Xanadu when we are in NY the end of July but I guess we're out of luck.  I've heard the understudy is very good as well though.

Ahhh...Singdaw!  You're so sweet... :)  I appreciate all those great vibes.  I may have a job prospect actually.  One of the job placement places I went to seemed to think they could place me but needed to speak with employer first.  I would be making about $2.00 more per hour! :)  That would be nice!

Our bakery dept. is self-serve.  The customers are able to pick out exactly which donuts/muffins/bagels they want, using a tissue for handling the items.  If the customer requests help from one of the baking staff, they will note that the staff wears disposable gloves when handling the goods.

(And our bakery staff is well known for personally decorating cakes for the customers with messages and names, free of charge.  Nancy, our lead decorator, is also known for the multi-colored frosting that often stains her baker's whites.  The colors on her whites often change with the seasons.  Just a tasty bit of trivia for you!)

DR SWW, Yum!  I'm trying to diet somewhat so I'm a little more in shape for all the walking when I get to NY, but talking about bakery goods makes me drool!

Well, it is about time for a Bollywood movie...tonights choice is FAULAD: STEEL MAN (1963) starring Dara Singh and Mumtaz.

Of all the Bollywood movies I have to choose from I don't know what posessed me to choose this one?

In that case, DR Julie, be careful if DR Jose gives you some "pointers" on where to walk in NYC.  He seems to know all the bakeries, and what they specialize in.  DR Barnum will attest to that - he was with the group of us when Jose led a "walking tour" of NYC.  Not one of us lost a single gram!

I should start getting dinner prepared.

Nothing special tonight, just steak, baked taters, and iceberg wedge.

OK, so I usually include some bacon bits for the taters.

And I'm thinking a sesame-ginger dressing for the iceberg wedge, so some freshly toasted sesame seeds would not be out of order.  Just for some texture.

Dang, being a foodie is demanding!

Good Evening!

Greetings from CLT!

...Where I have just enjoyed my now-traditional meal from Brookwoods Farm Carolina Pit BBQ: a pulled pork sandwich with sauce and slaw, a side of fried okra and a frickle(!!).  YUM!

-I swear, I think I've only ever eaten the BBQ here - and I've been flying through or to Charlotte at least once if not twice a year for the past 15 years.

DR JulieC40 - Yes, Cheyenne's u/s is very good.  He actually had left Xanadu to do Saved at Playwrights Horizons, but has been asked to come back in to fill in for Cheyenne while he is playing Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees over at City Center.

*And if you have the time, you could go ahead and catch Cheyenne in Damn Yankees over at City Center.  The top balcony seats are only $25.00.  Not a bad deal at all for nosebleed seats.

I love you all (seriously), and I love the film, "Fanny."  I saw it when it came out and was mesmerized.  The title song alone is like the sea.   And the reason it has aged well is because of all the great character actors-- we don't have actors like that anymore.

Love and kisses,

the ever errant and truant (but true to you) Kerry

DR SWW - As for the "Yogurt Rule" - which I've always interpreted as applying to any single item you happen to be buying in a multiple quantity... ;)

-I guess it's the "fault" of the barcode scanner - and more intricate inventory control and tracking measures -  but whatever happened to the days where you and/or the clerk would count up the quantity of a particular item, enter than quantity on the keypad and then the price?

DR MBarnum - As per you movie selection for this evening, well...  Umm....  Hmm...

-I think the people sitting around me are wondering why I've been shaking my head so much the past couple of minutes.  ;)

Oh!  And Cheyenne Jackon's "fill-in" is the totally adorable and multi-talented Curtis Holdbrook.

*I would post a picture of him, but when I went to pull a pic of him from BroadwayWorld.com, the "filter" here at the airport said "Access Forbidden: Porn Site".  WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And, besides, I should head to my gate for boarding.

Until FLL...

The  man in DR MBARNUM's movie looks like the actor who played in that ALEXANDER THE GREAT movie he watched last week.

DRJOSE - the first few scenes of LOVE WITH THE PROPER STRANGER took place on location at NY's Own Musician's 802 Hall....is it still in the same place?

I found a fix for the FireFox 3 address cell problem I was having......as you entered an address, about 12 URL's were showing up, each of them with a couple of lines of info.....way too MUCH info....but now it's fixed!
