We've have watched another couple of episodes of the delightful "Cranford".  More oranges in episode three.  It is so exciting.

DR Laura - be careful being too sedentary.  You don't want to trade your sprained ankle for the problem I have  :-\

Still being lazy - I needed to be lazy.  Listening to iPod.  Before that I was playing at the piano, still trying to figure out why I'm still displeased with one of the new Nudie songs - playing around with a new tune now, which would necessitate a bunch of new lyrics.

About an hour ago, room service called me for my dinner order.  They brought it right away and I'm not really ready to eat (I ordered things that don't have to be eaten right away), but there's not room for the tray and my computer on my table.

Gonna sign off for now - probably won't be back until tomorrow.  Maybe from my home computer.

Tonight's viewing will be a film I've never seen - Jackie Brown.  I don't like Mr. Tarantino at all, but this film seems to be the one for people who don't like him.

Oh, BK mentioning ye old iPod reminded me to tell y'all that I went to church on my iPod this morning by listening to Welsh choirs singing hymns.  When I told Fr. John that I might have dozed off during "church," he said, "That happens all the time when I'm preaching!"

Tragic photos and stories coming out of The Philippines, particularly the ferry that sank killing 700 people.

*And I believe that's all I'm going to say about my first day of rehearsal down here in Ft. Lauderdale.  At least for now.  ;)  -I have a production meeting in an hour, so after we "discuss", I'll see if I feel like - and/or can/should - share.  ;)

DR edisaurus - I was sorry to read about your loss.  I'm always amazed at how much I am affected when I hear of the death of a distant relative, or a former family friend.  A loss is a loss, and I guess it's also a reminder of our own mortality.  Namaste.

Coming soon to a movie theatre near you...

J.J. Abrams bought the rights to this story, just recently published in the NY Times...

I loved that article, and keep hoping that the owners will open their apartment/house for tours!

*And I have to wonder if any of the architect's former clients are now looking behind their walls for any hidden messages.

DR FJL - Glad to hear that you enjoyed The Visit as well as your stay at Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City.

-Yes, the grocery store is "just outside", if by "just outside" you mean: going into the Pentagon City Mall, heading down to the Food Court, walking through the parking garage, going back up to street level at Pentagon Row, then walking across the big parking lot to the Harris Teeter.  ;)

*Did you try any of the restaurants over in Pentagon Row?  Lebanese Taverna is one of my all-time favorites, as well as Thaiphoon.  -However, the restaurant choices over in Shirlington by Signature ain't bad either.

**And as for the taxis - Is Signature no longer handing out the "call me a post-show taxi" cards?  They used to do that at their old location since that part of Four Mile Run was usually deserted at 8:00pm.  At least being near Shirlington there's a better chance of hailing a cab due to the restaurants and bars there.

-Thankfully, my in-room internet access seems to be working properly tonight.  I woke up this morning with a few mosquito bites on my arm, and realized that they most likely originated from when I was sitting in the hotel lobby last night - there were lots of those little buggers flying around.

-However, there is no internet access over at the rehearsal space.  :-\  -Not that I have that much time to browse the internet anyway while I'm rehearsal.

Probably wasn't the same elephant.

I have read a lot about elephants as I love them dearly.  I can assure you it was NOT the same elephant.  I know I'm repeating what everyone knows that they do have great memories and they remember also when someone as helped them.  I am pretty positive if it was the same elephant it would not have acted that way but in a positive way, maybe even brushed the man with his trunk as a sign of affection.

I'm sleepy too.  And after two nights of getting about three and a half hours of sleep (each night), I guess I have a right to be sleepy.

Ginny, I am definitely not too sedentary. I need to stay off my foot more.

Made my day Laura!

"Off my foot"

I am so tired (OK I've given in) of the use of "OFF OF" when all that is required is "OFF".   My other peeve is "From whence" where the "from" is not necessary!

I know I'm just slow to adjust to the development of language.

We're looking at going home tomorrow or Tuesday, depending on that pesky I & R reading.

Whatever that means.

That was an internet joke that has been doing the rounds for years Julie.

By coincidence I've just (30 minutes ago) recorded three versions of "Baby Elephant Walk"  (fortunately I don't have a version with the lyrics)
