And some of the Sweeney Todd stuff was staged like that.

Did the customers carry their own razors and slit their own throats?

Why, oh, why, God, why can't he be straight?? It's just not fair...the really good looking, hot guys are either gay or married!  Dang, dang, dang! >:(

That, of course, doesn't prevent you from enjoying the view. :D

Hi, Jane. No Anthony is still in New York. He will leave around August 1st for Wisconsin. We will be on Long Island for the 4th of July holiday but that's our last trip before he goes West for 10 weeks.

Hi Ben, spending the 4th together will be fun.  Do you watch the fireworks there?  It has been a long time since I've been able to get Keith to watch fireworks.

I printed the article and put it in our staff room.

Thanks George.  I know sometimes people want to do something but don't know what to do.

Of course all of this silliness with actors playing their own instruments was started by Sondheim and his Strumpet With a Trumpet!

Imagine a Doyle "Les Miz" - a baricade littered with smashed strings!

Better yet - the Doyle POTO:

Imagine the phanton loading up his rowboat with his Lyn Larsen LL-324Q:

3 manuals and 24 ranks, 6 tuned percussions
plus traps and Sound Effects (Persian Cymbal, Splash Cymbal, Wind Chimes, Crash Cymbal)

YES, DRs, our very own Lyn Larsen!

Does he hide under the bed with the dog?

Thanks Cilla.  I'm pretty much the same, I move forward then lift something I shouldn't & back I go again.  The other day I was moving boxes in the garage looking for a missing item.  I didn't find the item, I did however bother my hip.  I'm better today but still can't sit more than a few minutes at a time.

Therefore, I won't be staying long.  I just wanted to say hello and catch up.

That would be funny if the dog hid under the bed, which he doesn't.  The last time Keith went to see the fireworks we took Echo & she had a great time.

I'm home.

The late afternoon sky is exquisitely golden.  Too bad it's all smoke from the plethora of fires burning in surrounding hills, valleys and etc.

Signing off for a while so I can use the computer as a DVD player to watch the last 2 episodes of John Adams.

Bye for now!

Lets' see...a dog and an outing with his master and mistress and lots of other folks and noise!  Yep!  That would have been a great time for any dog.

Not so with a cat, sad to say.

Cats tend to be "all claws" during fireworks.

We have lots of fireworks here. I'll see them on the 3rd at the lake. The Fourth they are along the river and maybe at the ball park, the 5th they are at Grandview Park after Saturday in the Park.  I wouldn't be surprised if there were some Sunday as well.

And of course they are legal in South Dakota, which is across the river from here, so the neighborhoods are filled with smoke because everyone is shooting off fireworks.   Oh, on the 4th there are fireworks at the country club a couple blocks from my house too

If you can believe it -- with this entire County burning away -- various city councils are having meetings this week to determine "whether or not" to allow fireworks to be sold prior to and during the 4th of July.

PLUS, you get a great close-up view when the neighbors shoot them straight at your roof!    :-\

Ron Pulliam - hold your breath!

SF CHRONICLE

Quote
BAD AIR QUALITY IS ABOUT TO GET WORSE AS STATE FIRES KEEP BURNING

Steve Rubenstein, Chronicle Staff Writer
Wednesday, June 25, 2008

(06-25) 17:06 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- The smoke is getting smokier in the Bay Area from the hundreds of blazes, big and small, that have swept through dangerously dry Northern and Central California.
The air in parts of the North Bay and East Bay will officially be "unhealthy" and "unhealthy for sensitive groups" on Thursday, according to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Today, air pollution is only "moderate."

"We've gone up a step," said district spokeswoman Kristine Roselius. "It's terrible. There are just so many fires out there, and the smoke is coming down and impacting the Bay Area."

Seniors and children should stay inside with the windows closed if possible, a tough thing to do on a sunny summer day.

The primary source of the smoke remains the out-of-control Walker Fire in Lake County, which has burned 14,000 acres and is only 5 percent contained. Fire officials expect the amount of blackened acreage to grow substantially as firefighters conduct deliberate burns to curtail the fire's spread.

Wednesday morning greetings!  Just as I logged on here we received a flurry of phone calls from my physician.  Seems I was given misinformation last night and took an incorrect dose of one of my medications.  So, the Friday blood test has been moved up to Thursday, which actually is more convenient, but the circumstances are a little unnerving.
