Do movie titles count?  I can't remember.  Or does it have to be a person?

In any case:   Garden State.
It has to be a person, or the name of a band/group (Tomovoz referenced Georgia Satellites earlier).  Movie titles don't count.  Sorry.

Gilbert & Sullivan ;D
No, and we (der B and I) can't allow Gilbert O'Sullivan, the singer, either.  (Wrong last initial.)

Did y'all know that GLORIA STEINEM was married to Christian Bale's late father?  I didn't, until I saw it in yesterday's Parade Magazine.

I can see why der B disallowed these.  Sorry, Michael, but your phrase "There has to be someone with..." suggests that you are just tossing out names, without being sure of who you are referring to.  Sure, if I were to Google (and I did) I could come up with lots of George Smiths, but the rules of the game are to name specific people from memory.  If you had said why we should know George/Gary/Ginger et al, then they could be added to the list.  As it stands, they're not added yet.

Oh, and a reminder: preferred form is for one entry per post.  We get better daily numbers that way!   :D

And it is "Georgia StiTT" who is married to JRB, not "Georgia StiLL".
Thank-you for the correction.

What about Gus Van Sant?  Or would that be considered starting with a "V" for the last name?  Thought I'd try! :)

Greta van Susteren
Yes.  A reminder: Van and Von are prefixes, not part of the actual last name.  We call the guy Beethovan, not Von Beethovan, after all.  And Ludwig von Drake's last name is Drake.

DR Matt H - do they still make LaserDisc Players?  Would you be able to replace yours if it went on the fritz?

No, but I have bought two functioning used ones on Ebay for backup since I still have a fairly substantial laserdisc collection. I should be set for my lifetime.

Great Big Sea... group from Canada
Uh....

The initials for Georgia Satellite are G. S.  Great Big Sea is G. B. S.  What if the band's name was Great Big Wet Sea?  Or Great Big Wet Sloppy Sea?  It's a slippery slope here, with groups having "middle initials".  Let's keep the names of groups/bands to those having the specific initials of the day's game, and no others.

Sorry.  But an interesting try.

And here, the character's name was Red Green.  Can't allow.  (But he'll be great when the game is for RG!)

Good morning!

Not as hot today, and tonight promises to get in the low 60s, so at bedtime I might just be able to open things up again. Keeping my fingers crossed for that.

I'll be working on trying to complete the CANNON box set today. For fans of these shows, it's irritating when a season is divided up into volumes, but for reviewers, it's heaven having only half the number of episodes to view in order to complete a set.

I did break down yesterday and make one final order from Deep Discount during their sale. It was only two discs, but they each ended up costing less than $10 after the discount, so I couldn't resist.
