A sad day for me.

Because of my work schedule, which includes logging off and getting into the shower the moment I finish writing this, I will not be going to the Rehoboth Beach Farmer's Market today.

Boo and hiss.

This means der Brucer and I will not have any fresh and wonderful tomatoes to eat this week.

Boo and hiss again.

I will be having stern words about this with Stacey, the supervisor of the cashiers, and must remind her that I will not be at all happy with her if she pulls the same stunt next week.

OK, one more quick post:

BK, I don't think it is possible to get great corn in the Los Angeles area.  It doesn't grow near Los Angeles, as I recall.  So it won't be as fresh as you'd like.

However, you might check out the farmers markets, which I hope could prove me wrong.  If you are trying to watch your calories, great veggies are probably your best bet, and the farmer's markets are your best bet for finding great veggies.

By which I mean the ones that show up on a weekly basis at various spots around town.  They're great for people watching, too.

When did I have corn?

Is that Carol Channing story true or apocryphal?

I also mentioned NYMF's Roller Derby, the "new" musical that was thirty years old.

Wow...that was back when roller derby was originally on TV, before it made a comeback!

I'm quite tired and I'm not sure when I'll jog today - I'd hate to fall asleep whilst jogging.

My first big batch of ASCAP registrations has been accepted - includes all of The Brain, Stages, Together Again, and a few odds and ends, like the Creature songs.  About time I did all this.  They have the Nudie cues but none of the songs seem to be registered separately, so that's next, although I'm going to call and see exactly what's what, because I'm pretty sure when I registered Nudie back in the late 80s that all the songs were listed.

Another G.S. just came to me - Cilla probably knows this: Gerry Spence - world famous attorney and author.

Yes, I do know Gerry Spence, my brain wasn't really functioning. I have met him several times as well as his son Kent who is a great blues harmonica player as well as a lawyer

There's a new roller derby team here in town. I haven't gone to it, but I find it hard to believe it's back

I am at the office.  I feel better, but have a bit of a headache.  I limited myself to water then had a 1/2 turkey and cheese sandwich and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo.

Ok, it's a little spicy and I'm a bit concerned about that, but I'm going to miss Mardi Gras on Thursday (St. Charles, LA is out sister city and every year on the Thursday before the 4th they bring up all their Mardi Gras costumes and have tons of cajun food.) So although Mardi Gras and the first thursday in July have absolutely nothing in common. That's when we do it here

Sing, are you going to be in SF on July 5th? SACCO AND VANZETTI will be the opening film for Labor Fest.

I know you've seen it, but if you know anyone who might be interested, here's the details if you want to pass them on:

Saturday, July 5, 2:00 PM
Roxie Theatre, San Francisco
www.laborfest.net

"The case of two Italian-born anarchists, executed for a murder they  almost surely didn't commit, remains the definitive, scary myth of the  promise of America snuffed by fear and loathing.  It's cleansing to  see the facts laid out with intimacy and rigor, and the film earns the  comparison it makes to the squelching of due process for some of  today's terror suspects."  Entertainment Weekly  (with an "A" rating!)

"Absolutely engrossing.  Masterfully revives the past." - Chicago
Tribune

Ok, back to work. I am catching up, the judge was very nice and we're having the pretrial conference tomorrow. I've already finished most of what was due so I'll be good to go before tomorrow.  Phew!

Alas, DR Edisaurus, I will already be in-flight by that time on Saturday, or I'd be the first one in line.  :(  And I don't really know anyone there.  Darn it!

Comcast was strange this morning....well more so than usual.  I never did get to read all of yesterday's posts....

But yes, DRJMK....I know that the FF/PHYLLIS connection is one Ms Jane Rose - in whose apartment Frances stayed for a few months when she returned from Russia, and who appeared with her on THIS IS YOUR LIFE, and Frances was genuinely pleased and touched to see her (and Belle MacKenzie).  It is one of my favorite moments in the show, and Frances seems to think "this might not be so bad...."  and then Ralph goes in for the kill.

And the word of the day is: TRICHOTILLOMANIA!  Perhaps one of the greatest words ever.

And The Song Of The Day Is: I'M BREAKING DOWN
