I'm going to drop off line for awhile so I can write for a bit. Will go back to continue with the bonus feature disc in the Criterion set.

And then, . . . .THE CLOSER.

RLP - since I hate for you to be incredulous, I thought of the initials exactly three hours before posting them.

And those names came to me over the course of those three hours - when Rothman and I played the game in the car we could whip off 100 names in thirty minutes.

Siegel, Janis - Manhattan Transfer (P 18)

Woody, it's The Manhattan Transfer. ;)

Years ago, a friend of mine told the story of when he used to work at The Evergreen State College in the communications/public relations department back in the 1980s.  A co-worker (not my friend) was designing and drawing (by hand...remember, this is long before computers did much of anything) a poster for some event at the college and the co-worker had at the very top:  "Evergreen State College" (no "The").  Their supervisor made the co-worker completely redo the poster.  He (the supervisor) said "It's THE Evergreen State College!  Leaving off The in 'The Evergreen State College' is like leaving off Yale in 'Yale University'!"

It is also "The Beatles" DR George.  But is is nevertheless common practice to leave off the definite article when filing, listing etc.

Thus The Manahattan Transfer is lister under "M" on Joel's Whitburn's tome. (As I just checked). I also checked THE Beach Boys but just "Bee Gees"..  There is so much to discover!

Why am I writing that to a Librarian?

I've had a difficult day.

That really was a pathetic attempt to justify the fact that I too left out the "The" when typing "Manhattan Transfer".

On a happier note, I just got an inquiry from a NYMF show; I was referred by Michael Cassara, the casting director for NYMF. The director of the show has a great string of credentials and she's sent me sound files of the score, which I like very much, so we'll see.

I think we're talking later tonight.

An amazing array of names.  I think when I post Rothman's sports figures we'll close in on 300 - I still think there are more to come - and probably some that we'll each kick ourselves for not thinking of.

Joseph Stein - librettist for Fiddler On The Roof - another one I had but thought someone had already done - and the list wasn't yet done when I left so I didn't do it.

I got this one on page 4 but it seems to have missed the list up to page 15.

On a happier note, I just got an inquiry from a NYMF show; I was referred by Michael Cassara, the casting director for NYMF. The director of the show has a great string of credentials and she's sent me sound files of the score, which I like very much, so we'll see.

I think we're talking later tonight.

Congrats and great news! :D

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

RLP - since I hate for you to be incredulous, I thought of the initials exactly three hours before posting them.

Consider my incredulity significantly abated....    ;)
