Yep!  Looks like we're due for some major storms and rain over the next couple of hours...

This link will probably be out-of-date/time in a couple of hours

I think I'm going to have to have a copy of the singdaw codex.

It's widely read in the library at DHS.

My question for ASK BK DAY:

Who is your favorite ALL TIME Talk Show Host or Guest Host....and what was his/her BEST interview?

Easy one - Johnny Carson - no one has ever come close to his humor or the ease with which he did interviews.  He was a genius at it.  My favorite of the Carson interviews would probably be with Tiny Tim.

Can someone update me later today about the rain and whether I should bring an umbrella?

Bring an umbrella.  You'll need it.

In fact, always pack an umbrella.

Next up, if I can get up the energy, is a jog, followed by the bank.

Before your trip make sure your will and medical power-of-attorney are up to date 8)

IF the current Lupone Gypsy revival recording ever gets released, [whoops, I've lost DR Tomovoz!] there is a rumor that a two-disc version will be available from Barnes & Noble with extra bits of recorded dialogue.

That's a "must miss"!

La Lupone -- she's the good friend of our Elmo, yes?

Nope, we've only spoken occasionally, and I am also occasionally a fan. I would like to see her in GYPSY again[, because I saw the initial run at City Center and thought she was a musical disaster. I loved her in EVITA and I think she's wonderful on the recording of THE BAKER'S WIFE. I also liked her in the tv series LIFE GOES ON.  What I admire about her as a performer is that she's fierce, and I don't watch her thinking that she'll be out of the second act with vocal problems, as I do in most Bernadette Peters performances.

I honestly don't know.  But I'm sure we can count on dear DR elmore3003 to register a strong opinion, one way or the other!   :)

Hmm... Tomorrow and Friday, Disney will be auditioning potential judges for their upcoming "American Idol Experience" down at Disney Hollywood Studios.  The only real requirement is that the potential judges have a music-related degree - and then the audition process will take care of the rest.  They are bringing up two "ringer singers", and the audition will consist of judging them on their critiques, comments and personality.  Could be fun.

*They are building a HUGE soundstage for "AIE", and it looks like it could be quite a neat attraction.  After some preliminary rounds each day, there will be a final each night, and the prize will be a ticket to the front of the line at one of the regional "AI" auditions for the real show.  Kinda cool - if a bit of a logistical nightmare for those behind the scenes.

**But the "judges" will be on an Equity contract, so....  Hmm...

If you've got an umbrella handy, I'd stick it in the luggage to be safe. I thought an hour ago the rains were landing and it hasn't happened yet.

I keep getting these roaring dinosaurs at the top of occasional HHW pages and they always scare the crap out of me!

I had a rather profitable session at the NYPL; I gotta say that Neal Gould, author of this new Victor Herbert bio, has been through the Dillingham files that I'm now examining and he keeps adding two and two and getting 22! I'm embarrassed by his ability to take information from one period of time and claim it's from another. Today I found a letter to Elsie Janis from 1911 about being late to rehearsals that he applies to a September 1912 rehearsal. Oy!

Oh, my gosh...this photo brings back memories I had totally forgotten about!

Charlie and Humphry, two puppets that used to introduce the weekly afternoon kids shows on KATU Oakland Channel 2 during the early to mid 70s!

We got that station piped up to us in southern Oregon and I would watch them almost every day! LOL!
