Good morning, all! I'm happy to see that BK is back on terra firma and his day of travel hell is over.

I'm still in cell phone hell, but I've been getting lots of funny emails from friends with contact info. I can take several days to enter the information and send nice notes back to them.

Today, I just got a set of orchestra parts to look over from my copyist Jonathan, I need to call Kip in Hawaii about the new chart, I've got more BABES IN TOYLAND notes toi ammend and correct.

I want to see JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH in 3-D, so I may do that later in the afternon.

For the moment, the laundry is in the dryers and I after that, to work.

Folk singer Dock Boggs, who worked on the film SONGCATCHER.

Yesterday my sister and I went to see MAMMA MIA! at the RAVE movie complex at the Metropolis Shopping Center.  It was quite an experience.  I must say that we didn't dress up, and we still looked more dressed up than a LOT of people.

And, yes...

Just be thankful you don't normally have to fly through LAX, DFW, ORD, ATL, DEN or DTT on a regular basis.

Long Beach and Burbank are small(!!!!) airports, so their security screening lines will never be that long... even when they are "long".  Long Beach has eight gates, Burbank has 14 gates.  JFK has nine terminals, and 100+ gates.

*The security lines at ATL normally take anywhere from 45-60 minutes - and that's during the non-rush hour periods.

As others here have written....the "girls" seemed to be a bit too old for what they were supposed to have done.....when they done it.  Was Sophie born when Donna was 37?  Crazy, man!

I liked Meryl and Christine and Julie - and the guys were great....and it was nice to see MEN playing MEN rather than BOYS playing MEN.  Dominic Cooper was good.....but it was distracting that his nipples were almost under his arms.....I don't know how THAT happens.

And the girl playing SOPHIE didn't have enough room between her upper lip and her nose.....in the BIG CLOSE UPS it was very distracting....

But I digress.....I liked the music....the choreography was okay.....the scenery was pretty....the costumes were some of the UGLIEST stuff I have ever seen....and it was all so pretty onstage!

All in all, I enjoyed it.....wasn't disappointed....wouldn't see it again at the theatre, but I will probably buy the DVD.  Colin Firth takes the acting honors, such as they are.....

DR elmore - I think I'm going to pass on seeing a movie this afternoon.  I've been wanting to head back to MoMA over the past week, and I think today will be the day.

DR JRand57, are they recreating or at least approximating the original movie choreography for the key scene?

Actor/singer wise, pretty well, with the exception of few muffed lyrics.  For me, pure hell as the stupid lighting op kept turning off the special which was serving as my music light (they didn't want a clip light on the piano's music stand).  The first time it happened I gesticulated wildly to get someone to pay attention in the booth, which of course no one did, so I had to STAND UP, RUN OFF THE STAGE AND UP TO THE BOOTH to get their attention!  Can you believe it?  And then, incredibly, they did the same thing about 15 minutes later.  That time, one of the Board members in the audience saw what happened and ran back there themself.  The sheer stupidity of these people amazes me.  :)

Heading down now to get cleaned up for lunch out with best friend John. He went to see the tour of AVENUE Q last night, so I'm interested to see what he thought since we all saw the original cast in NYC some years ago.
