FJL, for some reason I thought the Follies was one of these summer things. I understand what you're saying and I'm sure you're right - but I just think that if you're doing Follies WITH the book, DO the book, get a director/choreographer who understands the material, and don't make it such a hybrid.

Back from a two-and-a-half mile jog. I decided to straight-line today and ran all the way from my home environment down to Ventura all the way east to Vineland, which is two miles plus, then another half mile. Then I briskly walked the two miles back. I'm pooped and really sweaty.

BK - The confusion over where Follies fit in with the Encores series is logical. There was much chat-board debate about whether Follies was really a rarely-revived show so as to appropriately be part of the regular Encores season. And I'd bet if they had the Summer Stars series then, Follies (along with Bye Bye Birdie and Pajama game) would have seemed a more logical fit for their Summer Stars. But the tremendous financial boon of a Follies or Bye Bye Birdie or Pajama Game (all in the regular series, while Gypsy amd Damn Yankees were Summer Star shows) helps pay for the Sweet Adelines and Junos and Purlies of the regular series, or so the chat goes.

I'm back from a loverly lunch and fun movie with our DR Jose. As to THE MUMMY 3, I'd see it again in a second: it's like the big roller coaster you love at your favorite amusement park:exciting takeoff, fun climb, and lots of laughs, screams, and enormous highs and lows in about an hour and 45 minutes. Lots of CGI, of course, but the art direction and design are both heavily nostalgic and quite beautiful at times. I don't know why the original leading lady isn't back. Perhaps she didn't like to be playing mother of a grown son - there's a bit of Indiana Jones 3 in the screenpklay - but I had a great time.

Nursie, I think you will love it.

I'm wondering if the fact that she's now an Oscar winner had something to do with her not signing on for this third trip. I'm just guessing; I have no knowledge one way or other.
