Next, I watched last night's MONK. The boxing match was ridiculous. Monk being in the ring after the bell rang to begin the round would have IMMEDIATELY disqualified his fighter, especially in a heavyweight championship match.

The mystery was OK, but the clues were very obvious this week.

Bernie Mac Dies at 50
Comedian-actor passed away early Saturday morning from complications due to pneumonia.

This is too young.

I hesitate to ask what age you think is "just right". :)

I spent the day reviewing films. One of the films was a BEAUTIFULLY done documentary on the civil rights movement, COME WALK IN MY SHOES. Several of us were quite surprised to see footage we'd never seen before. One woman at the screening said that the Dept of Labor has lots of material (stills?) and it's not difficult to get access.

Amy, I really think you'd like to see this one. I'd like to see it air on PBS or used by the American History Museum. It's that good.

An absolutely GLORIOUS day here, what I call "California weather"--bright sun and low humidity.

I imagine DR MATTH is enjoying the same.

I have a stupid question. Remember that I don't watch tv news, so maybe I missed something.

Is there a reason we would care about John Edwards and his personal business? Is he running for office or something?

There are no stupid questions, just stupid....nevermind.

A. Edwards is a current political figure still under consideration for another VP run.

B. Edwards made a lot of noise a few years ago denying dilly-dallying, and now he has been caught - the news loves exposing hypocracy!

C. Glance over the tabloids at your market check-out-line; do you care about most of those people featured? I suspect not, nor do I - but the magazines sell.

Ironically, the talking-heads  cable news shows are devoting all their time to dicussing whether ot not the Edwards story should be reported.

*Although, I may end up taking it easy today due to my left knee.  It started to "hurt" yesterday morning.  It's just a little sore - only when I touch it - right on top of my knee cap, but it only really hurts when I put weight on it - especially when I'm walking down a flight of stairs.  So...

I've had this before, and it usually just goes away on its own.  I can still walk around, I just can't walk at my usual pace.  So, we'll see.

The doctor is in:

Best guess is bursitis (House-maid's Knee).

Best OTC remedy Aleve (Naproxcen)

If you're fortunate, the bursitis will move to your mid-arm and you'll have "Tennis Elbow" - butcher than "House-Maid's Knee.

5¢ please!

The Office is closed.

East of you this time--K Falls and Crater Lake.

Our English relatives visiting next week are also spending a night in Klamath Falls with a friend.  Why are you going there?

Are you camping in both places?

DearReaderLaura,

You will not be pleased to know that the Edward's scandal drum-beat will not let up until the paternity of the alleged "love child" is established.

der Brucer

Which rasies an interesting question:

If womb A claims testicles B sired her child; and testicles B claims paternity - can testicles C demand a paternity test to dispell rumors that he is the father?

NEWSFLASH: Womb A has refused to support paternity tests. (Good for her!)

I'm guessing that if I discuss any live Olympic results that i should put spoiler space (since NBC does not seem to show anything live).

So if i'm just discussing in general i won't put space. But if i'm discussing a result (that probably won't have aired in the US) i will.

I found out something interesting. CBC is showing all their events live on the internet (there are numerous channels but the events can only be watched live).

I'm curious if this works in the US.

(the channels are on the right side for the events on at the time).

You know, DerBrucer, sometimes I'm glad I don't have a television. Correction: most times...

If anyone is interested you can hear a few of the songs from the new SHREK MUSICAL:

Build Me a Wall.
I could get used to this.
Big Bright Beautiful World.
I know it's today.

Let me get this straight - I come home after a very long and busy rehearsal day, and we're on page FOUR?  With an incredibly low number of posts?  Skammen.

We got a late start this morning, and then I had to do all of Alet's material, as she had to leave at 1:30.  I then went back to the beginning of the show, and began staging.  The first number took a while, because there are a lot of components to it.  Then we moved on and it just took forever to do, because the scenes in the show are very, very long, one of them a whopping nineteen pages.  We almost made it to the end of the first act (my plan was to have finished blocking, but I saw right away that wouldn't be happening).  Luckily, a long scene with Alet in act two and the finale of the show are done.  And the ensemble stayed late and we finished the opening of act two, so that's good.  So, tomorrow there's eight more pages of act one to do, and then most of act two, most of which is simple, but again, one mother of a long scene where there are six people on stage throughout.  Everyone has agreed to stay until six tomorrow, so that will help - although, once again, I only have Alet until 1:30.
