Back from the long jog - barely.  Lesson learned - I cannot jog twice in one day.

Nor should you.  It's counter-productive.

Too late! :o

Thanks to all for the vibes and xylophones - they are much appreciated.  It's been a really difficult week, and hopefully the difficult part is over.

Sounds like the start of a vigilante campaign. In some jurisdictions "watering" a tree in a park (if kids are present) or flicking a girls rump with a towel at a public pool are "registerable" sex offenses. Your neighbors need to worry less about the registered sex-offender down the block and worry more about Uncle Jake - most sex offenses against minors are committed by relatives!

der Brucer

True...the synopsis says that he abused his 9-year-old stepsister and a 6-year-old neighbor girl when he was 16.  He's 26 now.  It was 10 years ago and he "was sentenced to 8 days which was suspended" but it also says "his previous criminal history places him in a classification level that reflects the potential to re-offend."  I know that they're just being careful but I this could possibly create more of an issue than necessary. :-\

DR George - Was the packet placed on your door by the local authorities, county police, etc.?  Or does it look like someone made it up on their own?

I don't know who put it on my door, but it's basically four double-sided pages of information, mainly about the laws.  His information is only one side of one page.  It doesn't look like someone did this on their own...and there's a local phone number to call a detective leieutenant.

Awaiting word about whether the CDs will show up today, although I'd say it's looking doubtful.  That means tomorrow will be a REALLY busy day.  But, you never know, they could show and that would actually be a very good thing.

Hmm.... OK.  I wonder if that is what is required under the Oregon state laws in regards to sex offender registration.  Some localities put their faces on a database and/or on cable TV, I guess good old-fashioned leafletting is still in place in some areas.

Nor should you.  It's counter-productive.

Especially since he/you/bk is not eating enough food at the proper times in order to fuel his muscles - and brain - properly.

Ooh, Ooh, Barnum, I'll take the one in the orange jacket, even though he's got a bit too much bling.

Oh, wait, I can't. I'm married (in every way but the eyes of the law). Oh, well, I'll just look  ;)

Well, choose your partner DR Singdaw, it is time to fill up 'yer dance card!

Me suspects that if DR MBarnum was ever presented with that "dance card", he would end up with a good case of the vapors, giggle like a school girl and faint.

Some book reviews on amazon would probably cheer me up, as I'm a whore for that sort of thing.

I wish one of those morons on AS THE WORLD TURNS would get on a computer and Google "homosexual philanthropic foundation" and then read the 9,800 results before beginning a story line that looks like it will become CUTE GAY BOYS AND THE AGING CLOSET QUEENS THAT LOVE THEM! Perhaps Dr Phil will be brought on for advice?

So, I think I will step down to the pharmacy on the corner.

Folks, I had some news to post yesterday, which unfortunately I was unable to deliver.

Jane asked me to tell you all that her beloved mother-in-law, Keith's mother Millie passed away. She had rallied over the weekend, but has succumbed. Funeral is Friday. She was the best mother-in-law our Jane could have hoped for, and they are devastated by the loss, as you may imagine.

Jane and Keith had company visiting from England, and couldn't leave immediately - but by now are on their way down, having delivered Sherlock to the groomers, who will spoil him rotten during his parents' absence.

that is all - sorry to be the bearer of such sad news...

The Last Starfighter (the film) was an answer (question?) on last night's Teen Jeopardy tournament.
