I noticed that two weeks ago when I was in Virginia. At first I thought, "Oh, that's sort of cool - First Day of School Candy.", but then...  Nope.  :-\

Well get moving, man!    :)

I'm trying, I'm trying.

I actually woke up around 4:00, and started to finalize whatever plans have been dancing through my head the past couple of weeks.  Thankfully, I was able to get back to sleep.  However, ever since I woke up at 6:30... Well... It just seems there no real way to keep it "simple" at this point.  I think.  -Or maybe I just need to go back to bed and get a few more hours of sleep.  ;)

Yesterday morning, I sang the music of William Byrd as a part of a vocal trio at my DH's Episcopal church.

We were billed in the bulletin as Three Byrds Singing, but amongst ourselves, we decided that we're actually The ByrdBrain Consort.  :)

Did you perform the Mass for Four Voices as a Trio?

;)

*In the spirit of that Faust Trio performed as a duet. ;)

Actually, I believe the real line was:  "In my left hand I have a gun.  In my right hand..."

Steve Martin-documentary maker (THEREMIN)

What a lovely documentary that was, too! It was screened at some class that I was in back in my undergrad days, and I recall completely dumbfounding the instructor by knowing about the instrument, how it worked, and where it was featured beforehand. For reasons beyond my understanding, the most recent final Simon & Garfunkel tour featured a theremin in the backing band for one of the songs.

Quick two off the top of my head (needed to check Google for the spelling only, I swear!)
* Sid Myer, NYC cabaret impresario
* Sid Meier, computer game developer

BK, like you I have always been baffled by BOBBY DEERFIELD.  I had a lady friend who seemed enamoured of the film and told me that to understand her I should see the film.  I saw, was bored by it, understandably the relationship with my lady friend went nowhere.

Ha! Nicely done. Of course, the champion of all time was Anna Russell in her "How to write your own Gilbert & Sullivan operetta," singing all four parts of a madrigal (although, granted, her quartet singing, in her immortal words was "not what it used to be").

Stu Miller---pitcher for the San Francisco Giants in the 60's.  Best known for being blown off the pitcher's mound by the wind at Candlestick Park.  The wind was a major factor there.

Miller was also immortalized in a wonderful Danny Kaye song "Oh Really? No, O'Malley" which related a game between the recently-moved Dodgers and the Jints.
