Ann a one, ann a two...
Speaking of Ann Miller, she was one of the interviewees in the RITA documentary I watched yesterday and today. It must have been fairly near the end for her because she looked so shriveled up, her shoulders hunched. Not the Ann Miller we all remember.

There were a bunch of special features on the second disc in the GHOST WHISPERER set. I watched them all. There were also two interactive games: one for kids making a haunted land where skeletons dance, etc. The other was a game to put together the correct investigative scenario for snooping out ghosts. I didn't have any patience to try to get to the end of THAT game.

In all, I watched five more episodes of GHOST WHISPERER tonight. That will leave me with 10 more in the set. There don't look to be any bonus features on either discs three or four, and no commentaries either, so I should be able to get through them tomorrow fairly easily.

There is that one season long story arc about the ghost town existing under their own town that occupied a couple of the episodes I've already watched. The others are all more according to the show's formula.

The fake psychic working with Melinda was a favorite from the batch I watched tonight.

Here's a thought:

Obama grew up in Hawaii.

Palin grew up in Alaska.

This makes the first time our two most recent states have been so represented in a Presidential race.

MattH - did you make your NYC trip this year?  I do not remember hearing you mention one and I thought that was an annual event for you and your friends, or am I misremembering?

Well, I was waiting to see if The Ohio Trio were going to post any post-South Pacific reports, but... I'm sure they had a great time, and are most likely backstage... However, since we have a breakfast gathering in the morning...

Goodnight.

There will never be a Mazeppa to equal Miss Faith Dane - thank heaven her performance will live on forever in the film version.

I met her in 1973 at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival; she was with Donald Saddler.

DR elmore, I'm very curious what you ate at Artie's.

Mushroom barley soup and stuffed cabbage.

Danny was out tonight so we did not go backstage. The understudy was Victor Hawks who was quite wonderful in the Burstein mould.  I did speak to Ted Sperling and  I thought Kelli's performance, which was wonderful last May, has grown enormously. Still the most gorgeous production I've seen in years..

Oh, my, what a glorious evening!  A festive meal with DRs Jose and Elmore and then an unbelievable night at the theater.

South Pacific is every bit as wonderful as DRs Elmore, Jose, Ben and anyone else who's seen it has said.  Some of my friends at home were skeptical when I said we were coming to NYC this time especially to see this production, but I wouldn't want to have missed it.  I kept waiting for something to be weak or to disappoint me and it never happened.  Well, it was a little disappointing that Danny Burstein was out tonight, but his Billis understudy did a fine job.

I was an emotional wreck at several points, but have recovered.

Mushroom barley soup and stuffed cabbage.

Probably the wisest choices among all of us at the table!

Jose - I was closer to South Passaic than South Pacific.  :)  My family celebrated my dad's and nephew's birthdays at Forno's restaurant by Newark Penn station.

On my dad's actual birthday a week from Sunday, I will be in D.C. for a dear dear cousin's wedding.

BTW, any word on ACE, the musical now playing at the Signature in Arlington VA?
