I finally got that pesky front yard mowed this morning. It was a bit damp, but I got it done. Thank goodness that chore is completed for a week or two. (No rain scheduled for the next five days at least.)

But what about after those five days?  ;)

Next, I watched the last episode of LIFE which I left for today, and got that review finished and uploaded. That was a relief to get it done early this morning.

Got my morning workout accomplished (even though I felt I had already worked out enough pushing that lawnmower). Still, it felt good to get both accomplished during the same morning.

On TV tonight!

THE CLOSER!!!

Raising the Bar (the new legal series has gotten scathing reviews from every site I've visited that reviews new TV. There is a minor gay character who is part of the proceedings, but I'm not going to add another hour of TV to my soon-to-be-heavy TV rotation.)

John Dos Passos was done, I think, by FJL, way back when, and should be added to the list.  John Darling is not on the list.  And neither is:

Jean Desailly - great French actor and star of Truffaut's The Soft Skin.

Today I'll be working on a new animated film from Lionsgate/Marvel Comics: NEXT AVENGERS which are young offshoots of some of the comic's superhero family. It's on Blu-ray, so I'm anxious to see what kind of quality this kind of animation will have in high definition.

You know?  There are such things as e-mails and IMs, or even cell phones and text messages.

;)

*And, yes, I'm being a stick in the mud about the Initials today (well, and last week too).  I blame the ice cream and gelato.  ;D

Monday morning greetings!  My friend's appearance on The Today Show was upstaged by coverage of Gustav, so she walked over to our corner and we had breakfast together at the Europa Cafe across the street.  We figured we'd last seen each other in the School of Music building at Michigan in 1974.  And our chat was as if 34 years had not elapsed.  When I email her the photo Richard took of the 2 of us, I'm also going to send her the link to this here site.

Hopefully we'll have an updated list soon.  I see no reason to be a stick in the mud about the game - I would hope it's fun.  No need for IMs or text messages (I don't ever do them) - macchus and I tease each other sometimes, not much, and it's in fun, too.

And here's one our stick in the mud should have done:

Jeffrey Denman - B'way performer and about to be star of the B'way version of White Christmas.

Well, regardless of the sticks or the mud, you could always keep and update your own lists.

Well, I guess I could give hints such as....

"Mezzo-Soprano who took over the role of Rosina in Bartlett Sher's production of Il Barbiere at The Met after Diana Damrau."

Richard has just left to attend a noonday service at St. Mary's and I'm chilling here at the apt. until the cleaning person shows up, then I'll vamoose to Starbucks.  We can leave our luggage (all packed) until we head to LGA at about 2pm.

On a more serious note... I've just been checking on in my friends, so to speak, over on Facebook, and never realized just how many of them have ties to New Orleans...  :-\

Let's hope the next couple of days are filled with stories of lucky breaks, crazy flukes and common sense in regards to Hurricane Gustav and the residents of the Gulf Coast.

I also had actor Jerome Dempsey, which is not on the list.
No need for sticks in muds.  This is just a jabfest.
Just curious:  FJL, did you post John Dos Passos before I did?
