...And when did Hurricane Coverage become a "spectator sport" - and broadcast and commented on in that manner?

This morning I received a phone call that brought me tears of joy.
My friend called me from the hospital & I was able to talk to her. :D

In the last weeks I’ve shed many tears out of fear for her.  I’m still all choked up I spoke to her, and she sounded good. :)  I pray there are no more setbacks and she continues to improve.

DR elmore - You probably should have just had the soup for lunch, and saved the salad for your next small meal about three hours from now.  The mushroom-barley soup is quite hearty, so... but at least it was barley and not egg noodles.  Eat slower, slowly, and be aware that you're chewing your food. Your blood sugar will spike after eating any meal, so you need to make sure to keep those spikes as small as possible throughout the day.  Smaller meals equal smaller spikes.

Long time ago when the Weather Channel started doing it and then the other networks jumped in.....

I was amazed to turn on the car radio and hear non-stop hurricane coverage with the radio reporter in New Orleans.

On TV tonight!

THE CLOSER!!!

Raising the Bar (the new legal series has gotten scathing reviews from every site I've visited that reviews new TV. There is a minor gay character who is part of the proceedings, but I'm not going to add another hour of TV to my soon-to-be-heavy TV rotation.)

From what I understand, it gets MUCH better after the first episode, so it might be worth a look. I remember not being at all impressed by the pilot of THE CLOSER, but apparently the creators took the comments of the critics to heart and made adjustments, and look at it now!

Thousands Flee Gustav....was the headline yesterday.

I keep thinking about Mahler when I see these headlines......

I keep expecting to see a photo of hurricane damage with the tag line: "GUSTAV MAULER".

A. Press and public workers are exempted.

B. There is no penalty for not evacuating

OH!

Another favorite comment from this morning's hurricane coverage...

"So, it seems like the badly constructed buildings are the ones not being able to bear the brunt of the storm."

Jerome Dobson, he was one of the creators of the soap opera Santa Barbara.
