And ...

Hurricane Hanna, no relation to Hanna-Barbera that I know of, will be arriving in my neck of the woods on Friday/Saturday.  I'm scheduled to have Saturday off, but I'm not counting on that to stick.  My hunch is that someone will call out, and I'll get called in.  Lucky for the store that I'm so available.

...Unfortunately we often need to call our children more than they call us.

I'm so relieved to hear that we're not the only parents with that problem.  When I called our DS Rob from the car on our way to Columbus this morning, he and his girlfriend were sitting on a pier waiting to board the ferry to Mackinac Island.

bk - Chinese Chicken Salad from almost anywhere is infamous for large amounts of sodium and "hidden" fat grams. See if you can the dressing on the side.

Why would you want the dressing in a can on the side?

DR elmore - You should have. Did you at least ask them to start making a copy of your medical records for your own files? You should have that anyway, and could probably take care of that with a phone call.

I suspect I'll be seeng a bit of him until these meds are in line.

To the young woman: He's gay.

Good news - I just picked up the old "dead" PC, which has now been repaired, all data and files intact.  And it shouldn't be too much trouble to import all of that stuff into the new PC.  And the repair bill wasn't too bad.

ROTFLOL-sorry Ginny.  I do like to know when the kids travel, before they leave home.

Our children grew up with an itinerary (their father's) on the frig.  I don't believe they looked at it much cuz they were always asking "Where's Dad".  "What do you mean he isn't coming home tonight!"

Now I'm always asking for their itineraries, as much as I can get anyway.

DR Jane - I was pretty sure Rob and Mary Linda were still in Michigan.  When Richard and I travel, I always email our itinerary to my mom, our son, my sister, my niece, my cousin (whose mom lives near us), and Richard's niece.  Today Rob said,  "Are you still in New York?"

I suspect I'll be seeng a bit of him until these meds are in line.

And your next follow-up visit with him is scheduled for when?

Seriously... So you don't feel like a "moron" again the next time you head to the ER (and you WON'T!), you should write down all those questions that you need to ask and should ask your doctor. This way you can ask him - or you HMO - calmly instead of peppering them with expletives. If you need help coming up with questions, I'm sure there are a couple of people who could help you - your ER doctors and nurses included!

*Did he at least run you through the basic eye chart vision test today?  If you are worried about your sight right now, I'd say "splurge" on a $49 walk-in exam at Pearle or Cohen's Optical. They could at least tell you if it's something internal or external. -It might even be covered by your insurance.

That's a great pic!

Did EVERYONE have a copy of that Christmas Carol book that's on the piano?

I was just going to post that I had that songbook, too! ;D

DR Jose - what kind of applications have you downloaded on your iPhone?  The MD and I joke that I can play all the auxiliary percussion parts for Into the Woods with "Cowbell Plus" and I just tuned my brothers ukulele with "Stay In Tune".  Also, there is the virtual Rain Stick which is really cool.

Bryan left us a message on our home phone, while we were still in L.A.  At least he didn't have an itinerary & he knows we check our home messages daily (I think he knows this).

I suggest calling the ophthalmologist every day & asking if there have been any cancellations.  Let them know this is urgent & explain why you are so concerned & how this has been going on for.

Isn't it amazing that a city the size of New York only has one ophthalmologist!

In regards to Palin and her daughter - From what I've read - which, I'll admit, isn't much - Palin taught and advocated "abstinence", not "birth control".  There is a difference.

They never even acknowledge the concept of "birth control."  It's ONLY "abstinence." :P

I'll watch the feature when I go back down and should be finished by around 8 p.m. giving me a nice chunk of time to watch what I please before THE SHIELD comes on at 10. I hope to watch Sunday's MAD MEN episode in HD tonight.

Yikes!  I keep forgetting to watch this!  I'd better ketchup or they'll no longer be available from Comcast's On Demand.
