Dani, any idea when the storm might hit your area?
Right now, it's to up in the air. It's so far out that it could go anywhere.
A lot will depend on what happens if/when Ike enters the Gulf. If it hits when a cold front comes through, that could push it our way. If nothing bothers it, they say it should just keep moving west. Maybe hitting poor Texas again.
That's the trouble with these things. They can turn back on themselfs, do a loop, sit and spin, etc, etc. Look at Fay--she crossed the state south of us and then came back over just north of us. One never knows.
All anyone can do at this point is make sure the car is gased up, you have plenty of batteries and food/water and some cash because the teller machines won't be working without power.
