Hi all!  Just wanted to pop in to make sure everyone has weather TS Hanna.

We had cloudy skys with a very small touch of rain from her yesterday.

I confess, I'm a bit worried about our friend, Ike.  It's more like Yikes!

I saw a reference to bilberry.  I've been taking that for years.  It's very good for your eyes.

When I have these mini surgerys and I'm not allowed to take anything for a week or two before it, I really notice the difference.   Everything goes fuzzy.

In fact, you may not have known it but whenever I go to the theater I take one or two just before I go in.  It really helps me see the stage.

I onced dated Bill Berry.

Dani, any idea when the storm might hit your area?

Right now, it's to up in the air.  It's so far out that it could go anywhere.

A lot will depend on what happens if/when Ike enters the Gulf.  If it hits when a cold front comes through, that could push it our way.  If nothing bothers it, they say it should just keep moving west.  Maybe hitting poor Texas again.

That's the trouble with these things.  They can turn back on themselfs, do a loop, sit and spin, etc, etc.   Look at Fay--she crossed the state south of us and then came back over just north of us.  One never knows.

All anyone can do at this point is make sure the car is gased up, you have plenty of batteries and food/water and some cash because the teller machines won't be working without power.

Danise, please promise to post after Ike has visited.  We do worry about you.

I thought Bill Berry was a character in "The Importance of Being Ernestine".

In between reading & posting I have been doing loads of laundry, mopping floors & am now changing the sheets.  Next up-the bathrooms.  Such fun I'm having.

To cure my recent temptations to get another pet all I needed to do was change the sheets.  I miss the brief period when I could simply remove the sheets from the bed & throw them in the washer, without spending 20 minutes rolling hair off of them first.

Yesterday, I was in such pain.  When I came home from work, I got my pain pill, and then sat and tried to relax.  Two hours later, the pain pill had no effect whatsoever.  I then got up to get some more juice, and found the pain pill still sitting on the counter where I left it when I got home.   ::)

Just saw the weather on the news.  Most of what I told you is pretty up to date.  They don't think we will really know where Ike is going until the middle of next week.

I must say that I'd rather face a hurricane then some of the other things, like an earthquake or tornado.  At least we know it's coming and can prepare.

I'm just listening to Roy Orbison singing "Blue Bayou".

Such great pop writing. The whole is so much more than the melody and lyrics.

Tomovoz, I keep meaning to tell you about the 3 new bears we have.  They used to sit on my mother in-laws bed.  One is the panda we purchased at the San Diego Zoo during her 80th birthday visit.  Then there is the cute Grandmother bear the boys sent her for Mother's Day a few years back.  The third is a little white one I think was in a flower arrangement we sent for some holiday, birthday or Mother's Day.

They are sitting on an old chest we have at the foot of the bed.  When we watch TV I turn them around to watch with us, otherwise they are facing the bedroom door.

You can never have too many Bears.

Derek's Ted (and Bro from NYC) are both with Maureen at the moment.

I spoke with Maureen on Friday.  This "anniversary" was a little easier.

I get it.  Bayou = fishing hole.

I'm so pleased there is a fisherman on this site.
