Perhaps he had nothing to say. I may check the board out during the day, but if I feel there's nothing I want to mention, I go back to other projects.

I often do the same thing.

CONTINUED EYE VIBES TO YOU!

I e-mailed both of the companies that have an outstanding invoice - they both said it was going out Monday, which is about three weeks late (I have a deal with all these people that they need to pay upon receipt of the invoice - but they forget).

Is smart spelling where it predicts the word you're typing?

Yes, it is.

*And, bk, I think you need to go for a little drive this afternoon. Or two. ;)

I think BK should thank FJL for the "repeat three times" suggestion.  It hasn't helped my eye quite yet, but think how bad the post total would have been yesterday without it!

Not sure I understand the reasoning but at least now I know why folks are doing it. I was thinking something was wrong with the server.

Back from errands - once again, no mail - very upsetting as I'm waiting on invoices to be paid.

I got no mail today either, much to my chagrin.

I'm due several packages, a couple of which I'm most anxious to get.  I think I forgot to mention that I found another reasonable copy of But He Doesn't Know The Territory, also signed, and it's on its way to me and I want it NOW.

Bk - Yes. it felt miserable at the time.  But aside from [a] the dollars (which can be substantial), and any opportunities lost due to the time spent on the NYMF production (which should almost 100% of the time be none), it seems to me that the only way NYMF can actually hurt a show's prospects is if the show gets a negative review in the New York Times.    If you accept that concept - and you may not - then it's either neutral or beneficial.

And they are taking a good step in the right direction by having fewer shows this year, and it seems they're not segregating the shows based on Next Link and Invited Shows in their publicity, as far as I can tell.

Here's another vote for a new remaster of THE MIRACLE WORKER. My favorite film of all-time, I really can't stand to watch the nonanamorphic DVD and thus don't watch it nearly as much as I would if it were done properly.

Same with the Hammer HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES and WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION. Love them, but can't stand those nonanamorphic letterbox transfers.

I will take a drive at some point.  The gas prices here are holding, but I'm told that gougers in other States have raised them, some over 5.00 a gallon.  Those people and companies ought to be run out of town on a rail.

Yes, Witness, definitely.  And there are a bunch of other MGM/UA titles that were non-anamorphic that should be redone.  It's really ridiculous this far into the DVD game.

I spent the afternoon watching more GREY'S ANATOMY. I should be able to finish the episodes tonight if I'm not interrupted, but I likely won't get to the bonus features until tomorrow.

They've made a couple of improvements this year, the most important of which is less shows, so that shows sharing a theater are not quite as constrained as we were in terms of set storage, and having five other shows share a light and sound board, which can, as you know, be madness personified.

Yes, like ANNIE HALL. It only won the Best Picture Oscar but naturally it's not worthy of an anamorphic transfer.

I have no idea what I want to watch this evening.  I've seen all the DVDs that I want to in the western set from Warners, and I'm not at all certain I want to watch War Of The Gargantuas, never one of my Toho favorites.  Not sure what that leaves.

Most memorable of this afternoon's episodes involved the niece of the hospital director whose cancer had returned. She just wants to die in peace after years of struggling against the disease, and everyone else wants her to submit to more chemo even though the cancer has spread alarmingly. Very moving episode.

Have you gotten your hands on the new GIGI and/or AMERICAN IN PARIS. Dr. Drew Casper is waiting for your comments on HIS comments.

It's hard to articulate.  My family sometimes just calls it being a nudge or a repetitive pain the neck.  The three-times-or-more thing seems to work very often because if it's something I want for my own benefit, people know i really care about it and if they're inclined to care that I care about it, they may take action.  (Of course, if they don't give a damn about what I want anyway, it just annoys them but I'm rarely worse off than if I had never bought it up since I've only annoyed people who don't care what I want anyway.)  If it's something I wish for and care deeply about for the other person's benefit, then they suspect that I'm going to hound them until they take steps to do something about it, and in many cases they'll do what they need to for themselves just a little more quickly just to avoid being nudged to the point of annoyance.

I took Mae-Ling and Wae-Ling to the arboretum today. Then we baked a birthday cake.

There is a good reason why women my age are no longer able to have children.

At my check-up, my new doctor told me and showed me (a) that I have a hernia; and (b) that it is absolutely nothing to worry about, and that I can't even use it as an excuse to avoid lifting heavy stuff.  I looked it up on the internet and it looks like 40% of adults have a hiatal hernia.

I wish.  I'd watch both tonight if I had them.  My source for advance copies has all but dried up.

I am getting REALLY hungry and I have no idea what I want to eat, whether I'll need to go to the market or whether I'll go sit in a restaurant, or what.  All I know is my tummy needs FOOD now.
