Hope you enjoy the TV series of "Pennies" BK. Potter's work improved so much after this one. "Singing Detective" and "Lipstick On Your Collar" were really wonderful.

Topic for some answers if DR's can help.
"I"d Like To Teach The World to Sing", "I Love A Rainy Night" and "No Matter What Shape Your Stomache's In" all began life as commercial "jingles" before their lives on the pop charts. (I think!). Are there any other such popular hits that had that road to fame?

We've Only Just Begun was a commercial before it became a hit song. It Won't Hurt to Try It was a commercial and had two versions, although neither really hit - wonderful song, though.

I had an absolutely wonderful evening at Jeff's home. It was fun meeting George, Michael (who is even cuter in person than in his avatar) and our gracious host Jeff.

Jeff's wife Betsy is warm & delightful. Then there are their two darling, extremely well behaved boys and the sweet puppy BG. I just had to take a photo of BG for Keith.

I'm going to say goodnight and visit with Bryan who is home from a wedding. He also had a nice evening. Betsy was kind enought to bring me back so Bryan could stay later at the party. Michael would also have brought me home. Thanks anyway Michael.

Bryan is currently eating some of the best jordon almonds in the world.

I wish I had the gadgets for my camera with me so Bryan could post them. They came out nice, including the group photo taken by 7 year old Gabe.

Good Morning!

It was a good show and a great audience last night. While I was hanging out back stage during intermission, I could hear one woman in the audience talking with her friend. -Let's just say that this woman probably never talks quiet enough for anyone.

Well, she was reading the program to one of her friends, and she was looking for who wrote the parody lyrics. "Well, you know my cousin writes these sorts of things for our family get-togethers. I should tell him to put together a show like this himself. I'm sure everyone would love it!" -Watch out, BK! Competition!

As for "my" show, it went well. I had a few "interesting" moments, but nothing too noticeable -well, except to BK, of course. And, thankfully, the slight headache I had before the show didn't ache too much during the show.

As DR Jay mentioned, we went to see the new Tom Cruise movie, "Collateral". I did like, but not love it.

I had not really read anything about the movie, just seen some of the interviews with Tom Cruise when the movie opened a few weeks ago, so I wasn't too familiar with the plot. And the only other "information" I had about the movie were some movie stills I saw posted on AOL's front page. Well, courtesy of those still I was able to figure out where the movie was going after the opening five minutes. Ah, well...

But, again, I did like it. I'm not really an action movie fan, and this one really isn't an action movie. In fact, it seems to be trying to be a "serious" action movie. Lots of in-depth character stuff. However, the virtual travelogue of L.A. this movie provides is quite informative.

*Actually, the "spoilers" provided by some of the movie stills I saw remind me of when I went to see "Poltergeist" and "The Hitcher" (the movie with C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer).

The one clip for "Poltergeist" I kept seeing on various TV shows was the one where the mother starts "creeping" up onto the wall of her bedroom. Well, as I'm watching the movie, there's that "false" ended where the little girl comes back, and you think everything is all better. "Hey, wait a minute... I haven't seen that clip they showed on TV?!?!.... Oh...."

And then there was "The Hitcher" - the one clip that was being shown turned out to be from the final ten minutes of the movie!! -Do you think they did on purpose?

*Oh, and one thing I was also reminded of when I was watching "Collateral" was how relatively short Tom Cruise is (at least compared to the classic "tall" leading man). I actually met him when I was in high school right after "Top Gun" had come out, and it was a little "strange" being able to say Hi to him eye-to-eye. And I've happened to see him twice when he's been on David Letterman too - when I've sat in the studio audience - and, boy, does he make Dave look tall!

-Don't know why his height caught my eye - or why I'm even mentioning it... Well, it is free-for-all day.

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with myself over the next few days. Well, I have some ideas, it's just a matter of organizing them - or not organizing them. One thing I know I have to do is to buy some Hollywood postcards and send them back home to my nieces and nephews. They just love getting mail!

Also, Baayork Lee is in town this week auditioning a company of A Chorus Line for an upcoming production at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston. Originally, she was going to be in town to see What If?, but due to some scheduling changes she won't be able to see the show - she gets in tonight, and she leaves Thursday morning. Ah, well... In any case, we'll hopefully be getting together while she's in town.

And on that note - an A-sharp! - Goodnight.
